Date: March 4, 2006

Location: Ramada Resort Maingate

Format: Modified Constructed

Registration: 9:30-11:00 am (you must arrive during registration to be in the event)

Event starts: 11:30



If you would like to stay at the hotel it is 57.00 plus tax per night. If you call-1-800-365-6935 and mention booking code POKE, you will get this rate. This hotel is located off Irlo Bronson Hwy and there is a 7-11 and Bob Evens in front of it. It is the Ramada across the street from where States was held last year.





Cards in the Modified Format
Modified (Ex Hidden Legends through latest Set including Nintendo black star promo cards 027 and above and POP Series 1 & 2 ). If card has been reprinted in one of the sets mentioned above the older version can be used (i.e. Warp Point, TV Reporter, etc).

Rounds
Based on attendance. After swiss rounds are completed, cut to single elimination per age group with 1 hour match, best 2 of 3 (top cuts will be based on attendance per age group).

Prizes
1st Place
Pokemon TCG State Championship Trophy
A $300 travel stipend to attend the Origins International Game Expo and participate in the Pokémon TCG National Championships. This award will be given on-site at the event.
Four-day admission to the Origins Game Expo in Columbus, Ohio
36 booster packs
Prize bag with goodies

2nd Place
16 booster packs

3rd & 4th Place
8 booster packs

5th through 8th Place
4 booster packs



Everyone will receive a participant pin, promo card, and Series 2 POP booster packs while supplies last!!!




There will be many cool raffles throughout the day.

Bring a new player and you will each receive a free pack of a current Pokemon TCG expansion.

IMPORTANT: State Championships are ONE and DONE. This means if you win one you CANNOT compete in any other 2006 State Championships.

ill prolly be going(it will be my birthday present) i started pokemon aroun the TRR set
so this will be my first State championship :biggrin:
 
time for me to pwn states. Can't wait till this tourny since this was my first tourny in 2003-2004 season.i hope i do better in this states than last year :thumb:

no chris.let them come,if they can break both us,top 32 finishers and heather also currently LA champ,IN THE SAME DAY,then hey,i guess they can ride home with smiles and a trophy,and don't forget other threats such as kyle,alan,ur momma,dana,nancy,and any other 'random good players' that decide to show up that day as well,anyone registered in the tourney with a 60 card pokemon deck and is at least 15 years of age is a threat in my book in terms of my overall success,i don't put anything past anyone anymore. btw to steve i've had enough of being your 'sheepdog',you are the only player who humuliated me on more then one occasion last year and i humbly look forward to our next game.

All of these oh so very competitive players. I am so glad states is in kissimmee again it is so close to home i was almost afraid it would be down south. I can wait to see everyone there! I am also aiming for top 8 this year last years states was my FIRST big Tourny so i think i will have been playing for about a year come that time
