Hi. Here is what I hope to be my final version of the Flygon deck that I want to run for the 2009-2010 season, it does need a few changes which personally I can't see as the deck looks very stable, consistant and fast. So if you do have any suggestions they will be taken on board. Also I can't decide whether to use Dusknoir [DP] or Nidoqueen [RR] so if you can all help me decide by stating the pro's and cons of both that would also be greatly appreciated.

Pokemon 23

1 Flygon Lv.X
3 Flygon [RR]
2 Vibrava [RR]
3 Trapinch [SW]
3 Weavile [SW]
4 Sneasel [LA]
2 Claydol [GE]
2 Baltoy [GE]
1 Dusknoir [DP]/1 Nidoqueen [RR]
1 Duskull [DP]/1 Nidoran {F} [RR]
1 Uxie [LA]

Trainers 25

4 Bebe's Search
4 Rosanne's Research
2 Night Maintenance
4 Rare Candy
2 Warp Point
3 Super Scoop Up
1 Luxury Ball
3 Broken Time Space
2 Lucian's Assignement

Energy 12

4 Special Darkness
3 Basic Darkness
2 Call
1 Fighting
1 Psychic
1 Upper

Strategy

Start with Weavile and get a Flygon powered up on the bench as well as getting as many evolved Pokemon out. Use Flygon's Power Swing as main attack, with the abilty to use T2, if I go second. Dusknoir to disrupt my opponent's bench or Nidoqueen to heal. Claydol and Uxie for draw power, only 1 Uxie needed due to the nature of Flygon's attacks. As you would expect all of the staple trainers are here as well as 2 Lucian's Assignement so I can move the energy to another Flygon ready to pounce. Energy included are Special and Basic Darkness as you would expect with Weavile being played as well as a single of each psychic and fighting so Claydol and Dusknoir/Nidoqueen get free retreat, 2 Call energy and 1 Upper are only used if needed. As you can see I am not using Unown G at this moment in time as too be fair, I don't feel that Gengar has anything big on the deck, it main weaknesses are other Flygon decks and Snorlax.

Please as already mentioned, any advice or improvements would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Payney!

cool

:thumb: The deck you have there it sounds like it has a high possible chance of doing great but still luxape could still beat it if you get a dead hand or your energys are prized. gengar could have a chance to beat it. palkia lock could beat it cause you need all you bench pokemon and not just three but still great deck other than that

"...Energy included are Special and Basic Darkness as you would expect with Weavile being played as well as a single of each psychic and fighting so Claydol and Dusknoir/Nidoqueen get free retreat,..."

You are laboring under a misconception. Re-read Weavile's PokePower and Flygon's PokeBody and understand that if a basic dark is attached to Flygon, Dark Engage will give Claydol, Nidoqueen, and Dusknoir free retreat. Of course, if you use this power to get any of those guys out of a jam, you will lose the bonus of the special darks on Flygon, as Flygon cannot be made dark that turn.

Having said that, its a nice list. I would go
- 1 :fighting:
-1 :psychic:
+2 Call (you want them T1)

+1 Azelf
-1 Roseanne
-1 Special :dark:, +1 Basic :dark: (concerned about how many non searchable enrgies there are here)

You run 3-2-3-1 Flygon with 3 BTS. I would prefer 4-3-3-1 for consistency, but you would need to take out 2 cards, which could be the Nidoqueen/Dusknoir line, or 1 Warp and 1 Sneasel, but its all tweaking at this point. You'll have to experiment with how it affects your speed and consistency. Its hard enough in Dark Flygon to get out Claydol, Weavile, and your Flygons that I'd prefer not to deal with another stage 2 line, myself.

I know full well what Weavile's PokePower does, I have included the Energy incase Weavile gets Power Sprayed or KO'd for that matter. Against LuxApe I have to deal with the switch and then the Power Spray so this way I can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. I don't need 4 Call Energy, that is overkill. It runs smoothly with 2 and that is the way I intend to keep it. Azelf also is not needed, I don't want to clutter up my bench with basic Pokemon as this will make Flygon's attack weaker. The Energy will be easy to get, I have Claydol, Uxie, Weavile so my draw capabilty is there along with the acceleration, plus I have Lucian's Assignement to move the Energy around. I have tried a 4-3-3-1 Flygon line and it just seems like too much, it runs quicker with 3-2-3-1 as I have managed to get a Flygon ready for a T2 assault in many of my games.

Thanks for your input though.

As much as 4 call is overkill, it's almost necessary in almost any flygon deck... especially if stuck with a baltoy, uxie, or even in your case a duskull/nidoran...
