Fossil Ditto W/ DRE

Hi i was wondering if your opponent has an evolved pokemon against ditto can you put a double rainbow energy on it, then if he switches his pokemon to an another evolve you can keep it right but if he switches it to an Ex or Basic pokemon you have to discard the DRE, or benching Ditto...

No. Ditto remains a Basic Pokemon even if copying an evolved Pokemon.
Think about how a Team Aqua Wailrein is treated as a Basic if it is put into play via Archie.
Or how a Basic Pokemon is considered evolved if it is played onto it's Baby version.
What determines if a Pokemon is Basic or Evolved while in play is whether there is a Pokemon card underneath it or not, not what Stage is printed on it.
