So I've been trying to get my friends to play me online, so I've been trying to figure out the friend system. It seems very strange. One of my friends signed up today so we could battle basic yellow, but he couldn't use the chat icon to add me as a friend, and his screenname was all messed up as well. After spending a couple of hours attempting to friend each other, we decided to try to hit play now at the same time and we got matched up, but he was booted for idleness so we gave up on that.
I hit up another friend to see if I was using the friend system right, and apparently you can trigger battles with people without them even getting the chance to accept or deny the battle.
Is this supposed to work this way? I thought I saw on the top cut's stream that you could like "challenge" people and they could accept/deny the match.
Could someone clear this up for me?
