Strategy:

This deck utilizes cheap attack costs and any type of energy can be used on almost any pokemon to attack which means that the pokemon are “splashable” and fit in almost any type of deck. Like with any deck, the energy allocation usually best matches most situations if you get enough different types of pokemon out.

Scyther's free retreat cost opens doors if you are unsure of which pokemon to start with. You can start with Scyther and use Swords Dance 1st turn and then hopefully dish out Slash for 60 damage the following turn. Likewise, you can start with Scyther, retreat Scyther, put up Mewtwo, discard 2 energy cards, use Energy Absorption, and hit for 40 damage with Mewtwo's Psyburn attack on turn 2. Or, you can start with Scyther, retreat Scyther, put up Kangaskhan for a few turns and Fetch before using Kangaskhan's 2nd attack Comet Punch.

Clefable is used in a pinch; when they have a strong attacker, use Clefable's Metronome and copy the Defending pokemon's attacks for a single colorless energy. Using tons of Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal help Clefable out to stop the Defending pokemon from even attacking.

All these pokemon pretty much look like gnomes. I could imagine some pokemon gnomes sitting in someone's garden, wouldn't you?
