Gardevoir Lv. X's - Bring Down

Here's the set up:
Opponent has a Dialga G (HP = 100) in the active spot. There is an Azelf (HP = 70) on his bench.

As for myself I have a Gardevoir Lv.X (HP = 130) active. There is also a Baltoy (HP = 50) on my bench.
I attack with bring down................

Question:
1. The card says I get to choose me or my opponent. I wouldn't K.O. my own pokemon. I choose my opponent's Azelf. Does Bring Down take the Azelf out, or does the pokemon with the lowest HP in play reguardless of which side it's on get knocked out?

In the above scenario, you would have to KO the Baltoy.

The first thing that is determined is which Pokemon have the fewest remaining HP.
Then, among those, you get to choose.
