Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

GeChamp Goes 36-4...Takes Two First Place Trophies Home

AWESOME!! Congratulations to the Roll Team! Wish I had been there to see it. Thanks for the report, I've been dying for details out here in New Mexico while visiting the family. Unfortunately I was not able to make it to the New Mexico tourny here in Albuquerque. :( It sounds like it was a great weekend of Pokemon, and my thoughts were with all of our great Florida players. I agree with Sniper, it was definitely your turn for a big win! Can't express how happy I am for you and both boys. (Grafton, 11-0!!! AMAZING)

Very good job Jim!
Wish i would have gotten to stay and congradulate you, but i hadnt eaten a single thing all day.
I am Justin, I was the t-tar in t16(woot).
Also congrats on your family's good record!

Team Roll!

Jim, way to go. Gengar with Machamp was a solid choice. I don't think you guys were the only Gengar, MaChamp, Cressalia in the format this week, but I think the brilliance or "game breaker" seems to be the "Poke-Blowers". Great Job on a Great Build.

Unownm- Is that you Michelle? Thanks and if so....Congrats to Robin on her big win!!!

Rob- I should have mentioned you in my props as well because when I saw that you had been leaning towards Gengar/Cresselia as well I figured I was on to something. Taking parts from what you and Fulop did was where it all started. Reading all those posts in detail every night really paid off!! The 1-1 Cress is still something I am not sure about though. I did not get it into play much during the day but it won me 2-3 matches so maybe it did exactly what a tech is supposed to do. Going into tops I told John that I wished as crazy as it sounds to have played a 1-0-1 Dark Palm Noir after seeing all the big benches all day but then the Cress made the tops much easier. Grafton played the Blowers and Carson did not. Carson could have used them in the matches he lost. Carson did not use the Cress either and went for bigger lines of his two main guys to abuse the BTS. Thanks again for your input last week.

Great showing by all of you!! Brandon and I really enjoyed playing with you, Carson, and Grafton. Your entire family is a great example of what Pokemon players should represent.

Brandon is still talking about how close the match was with Grafton and how much he likes playing with him. I doubt we will see you are Regionals. It's a long drive down there for us and with GA Regionals only 2 hours from home, it makes more sense for us to play in GA.

If you know of anyone who got a picture of the Seniors playing in the top 4, 8, or 16, we would love to have a copy. Brandon looked like a Junior playing with the Seniors because he is so young. It was funny and we would love to have a picture of it.

We look forward to seeing you soon,

Ken

Dave- Where were you? Someone said they saw you but did you play? I kept looking for you in the crowd. See you at regionals.

Hey Ken,
It was great to get to know you and Brandon better and glad you could make it down. Sorry you got burned.....literally on the beach.....not by a Pokemon. Grafton said his match with Brandon was epic and could have gone either way. Brandon just had too many trainers in his hand!! I hope someone does have some pictures but it was so late that most had gone including my wife and Carson and I were busy...LOL.

Good luck in Atlanta next month and I know we will see you at Nats. You guys are a great addition to this game. Great positive attitudes and a real grip on what is going on.

Jim

I wasn't there. Caitlin had a thing at school that went from 2:00-9:00 and I just decided that I wasn't going to be able to make it. So I worked on sprinklers all morning!

The thing that REALLY stinks it that I'm not going to be able to make Regionals either! Caitlin is returning from a field trip and I need to be home to pick her up. So my next tournament will be one of the Battle Roads.

Good job Jim!
Me and jorge built that gengar deck that he played, i must admit gengar was a magnificent play for the day!
Also congrats to Grafton/Carson for doing so well, must have been a great event for you guys!
Hope to seeya at regionals!

~Justin

Eric-Never gotten to talk with you much in person when traveling your way but always pay attention to your posts. Thanks reading and shouting out...that means a lot.

Justin- Jorge came with a great play for the day and who knows how far he would have gone if he got the win against me. Keep up the good work and see you at Regionals.

Robert- Sorry you had your issues on Saturday. I thought hard about your formula for last year's win in deciding how and what to play this weekend. And it worked again. So, our league took two in a row!!!

Well done Jim. This is Brian from round 1 at last years nationals. I don't really know what happened with our correspondence but It's good to know you're doing well. If i don't hear from you I'll look forward to seeing you at nationals. :thumb:

Hey Brian. I have been keeping an eye out for you on the reports and wondering what "rogue" deck ideas you guys are working with. How has the season been going? See you at Nats for sure and thanks.

GREAT report Jim. I always look forward to seeing and talking with you at Nats and Worlds. Congratulations on a family victory. You are a shining example of SotG.

BDS

BDS-Thanks so much. That means so much coming from you. Also, congrats on what you have going on up there. You are a driving FORCE in this game!! Keep up the good work.

Jim Congrats on the win you played very well and it was a pleasure to watch I didn't record the song but I saw a few people doing it so it may make it up on youtube we'll see once again congrats and you and yours have been in mine and Cathy's prayers for quite some time now keep the faith all will work out .

BLiZz

Ken-thanks for everything. You guys did an amazing job this weekend and it was great seeing you. Too bad there were not more hours to have fun. Nick H said he got most of your song recorded and is going to work on putting it up for everyone. That was awesome!! See you at Nats.
