if Gengar Prime is active and KO the defending pokemon. but the defending pokemon have a Rescue Energy on it. what will happen? would that pokemon goto the lost zone or does it go back to the player's hand.

IIRC Gengar's Body overrules Rescue Energy and the Pokémon goes to the Lost Zone.

That is true if he uses his cursed drop attack, but not if a hit and switch attack is used.

It is in the wording of Rescue Energy. It has to be Knocked out by damage done. If effects are what KOs, Rescue does not trigger.

If it is KO'd by attack damage then the player with the Rescue Energy gets to choose.

If it is KO'd with damage counters then Rescue Energy doesn't trigger.
