Can I play a great ball if I have a full bench? Can I play a great ball and not put a basic on my bench? If not, what if I play a great ball and have no basics in my deck? Does my opponent get to take my word for it? or does he or she get to search out my deck?
I need a ruling please.

no if you bench is full and no the card says play them to the bench and they have to call a judge to see if there are no basics in your deck

You can't play a Great Ball if you have a full bench.
You have to take a Basic if there is one in your deck.
Yes, your opponent has to take your word for it. But if they don't believe you, they can call a Judge over and have them search your deck. They can also call a Judge over later if you get a Basic, but this is harder to prove.

To clarify the first one, you can't play a Trainer if it's "common knowledge" that the Trainer will fail.

So you can't use Great Ball in your example because you know that you can't put a Pokemon onto your bench, but you CAN use Wally's Training even if there are no evolutions to your Active in your deck, and discard it, because you can't see that it won't work.
