Grind my gears!! Topic discussion/apology

This thread and half the people posting in it grind my gears. Seriously, you people need to chill out. I think this thread is a bad idea, even more so considering that the first one got locked. It's already starting to turn into a flamewar/spamfest.

I kinda hate it when people put, in their reports, "oh, I didn't really playtest at all" when you KNOW they did...

TBH, I can actually say I've gone into tourneys with out actually playtesting for them, and done well.

i hate people that are to smug in pokemon i won states and a kid was like the only reason i won was because i lucsacked i got lucsacked so bad in top2 first game i got pwned and the other games he got an ok start and i got a medeocre start i was playing donphan and i won without getting a single warp point of BTS the entire game and it was a long game

i mean this game is supposed to be played for fun not be mean:mad:

So basically, you hate jealous people, because that's what it sounds like. You'll get that in every game. I don't think it's strong enough to be on the list though.

TBH, I can actually say I've gone into tourneys with out actually playtesting for them, and done well.

That's not a real topic, and it's not going on the list.

This thread is just to suggest topics for my next thread, and some people can't even handle that.

Really? Yeah, it is a ranting thread. Didn't you read the OP? We're coming up with topics to rant about, and I'm going to be making an article out of some of them on the list. Like I said before, netdecking has been talked about on here before. Why can't we talk about it? Maybe I'll use JWittz's post as a reference if I decide to do a Grind my gears-netdecking thread.

If you're trying to rattle me, it won't work. Nice try buddy. Good job posting in what you call a spam thread. Why even post here if you know it's spam then? That's not very wise of you is it?

Anyway, you're whole post is off topic. I will not be adding it to the list. Good day.

---------- Post added 06/01/2011 at 08:07 PM ----------

Adding asking what deck you're using, and hand shuffling to the list.
I've only seen ad hominem attacks come from you... that's really funny. You asked and I answered... simple as that. You claim that you want many things to rant about and I gave an answer very according to your rules and regulations. I am not trying to rattle you... only post what other people seem to be doing (what bothers me). My post is nowhere near off topic. By definition of the thread, the majority of your posts and this post are off topic. My original post was nowhere near off topic. Making an article requires actual effort behind it. If we are going to continue with ad hominem attacks, I would say that you are unable to construct a reasonable argument. Your last thread was sloppy and this one is spammy (and can be considered poll-y). Going through your past posts, you have presented weak arguments to support your claims. I, for one, cannot see myself reading any article you were to write and consider it reasonable. When criticism of your future article comes, you'd best be ready to present a reasonable argument for it. Moreover, all threads are community threads once they have been released. This thread may help you, but it is not for you. Every thread should, in some way, aid the community, or it is a worthless thread. This may aid you in some way, but you are not the community. A thread that says "wait wait wait... we'll discuss things later" isn't a very good thread. THAT is why threads like this grind my gears.

What I want you to do is pick a topic, any topic you would like to rant about, and post it in this thread.

I did exactly what you said. Now you are attacking me for not doing so? That's not very wise of you. :nonono:

Also, anyone who is saying that "this thread grinds their gears" is not a topic. All you're doing is getting off topic, and contributing to the spam. I would appreciate it if you wouldn't come on here doing that. It is disrespectful, and rude to the OP (which is me by the way).

Back on topic please.

Wrong again. I said "threads like this" implying that all threads that do not have a definite point of discussion grind my gears. That is full well a real topic. If you are going to claim that it is not, define a "real topic". Is it something that deals with Pokemon? You didn't imply that in your OP. What you claimed for me to say would be very rude. What I said, however, simply answered your question while providing an example (which happens to be this exact thread). Providing an example is not disrespectful. Making attacks on people, is however. I only mirror what you do (as you seem to think that it is fine). You made attacks on people, so I did as well.

Implying that this is your thread is rude to the entire community, if you want to be calling names. The OP, once they have posted the thread, technically has no obligation to the thread. They are usually the one defending points (as they are the ones who made the points in the first place), but the thread has nothing to do with the OP unless the OP wants to engage.

This thread is for people to feel free to complain about whatever they see fit, and do it freely. If you don't like it, don't be a part of it. Don't post. Don't even read it, if it really grinds your gears that badly. I'm sure you'd be more happy if you didn't read a thread that grinds your gears, and we'd all be overjoyed not to listen to you put us down. Have a pleasant evening, sir.

KLINGKLANG Really Grinds My Gears... When I hope to pull something useful in a B/W Booster pack.

Sorry for responding to the OP as Amphy intended to. Why don't you not read spammy posts if they grind your gears. You will be a happier person, yes? That isn't how it works. You cannot know the spam level before you read a post. I simply responded to the presented question using this thread as an example. If that bothers you, blame the phrasing of the question, not my answer. I am putting no one down. I am rather following what the OP intended me, as a poster, to do (rant about something that really bothers me). Why don't you stop talking about netdecking and spamming bothering you? Stop putting netdeckers and spammers down.

So this Klinklang thing, it really bugs me, people keep saying it's good, but I don't see how. I'm seeing people pairing it up with Steelix and Blissey Prime, which seems pointless to me because Reshiram is in the format. Even without Reshiram, that seems way too slow. I agree with Forte, I'm trying to pull something good out of a BW pack, and I pull this thing, I'm greatly saddened. Now I'm being told I can't even complain about it, man, life sucks.

Netdecking people are the worst too, I hate it when they test and fix the list to how they want it, bleh.

I really hate it when people get really lucky, and then say they didn't get that lucky. I mean, I came second at a States this year, and after I rolled my opponent Game 1, my opponent got 4 heads on Super Scoop Ups the next game, and if he had only flipped 3 heads I would've won. And then he says he didn't get very lucky at all, and I got lucky?

Ironically, you say

"Free to complain about whatever"

and then immediately follow that up with

"except for this one thing"

My grid if giarus' gears can be considered ground.

What grinds my gears? The CaC forum, namely, the way it is currently structured. People naturally only post on cards that are super OVER or UNDER powered. I wish we could have a subforum or something where CaC ideas were reviewed the same format currently done with CotD threads.

For example, take the Bisharp lines by ArceusRules. I’m the only other one that posted there, just because everyone probably thought “oh looks decent and fair” and paid it no further mind.

I would love to see “created card of the day” or something, perhaps ran by the moderator of CaC, mystery thing. It would be nice to see the ‘gym encourage people to make cards that DO fit into the metagame or format. After all, I personally use CaC as a test of both my creativity, and my skills at balancing everything out, just like PCL (arguably badly) does.

Yeah I did say you could rant about anything you wanted in the beginning. I just didn't figure that people like you would come into this thread and mess it up, like you're trying to do now. Now you're changing, or re wording what you said in your other post? Even if you're talking about threads like this, it still means this thread. Also, how can you assume and put this thread in the same league as those other threads anyway?

You came on here looking for a loop hole in my topic, just to go against me. You knew what you were getting into before you even entered this thread. Because you were in the first thread messing that up too. You are right about this being a community thread though. I just don't appreciate you trying to shoot this thread down.

Notice I didn't say my thread in this post. And this is still not on topic.

If you think this thread is yours try deleting it, I bet the staff will say otherwise.

Look buddy, how would you feel if someone came into a thread that you made (even though it's for the community), and bash it, calls it bad, spam etc.... Would you appreciate that? Do you want that kind of negativity in a community thread? All your hard work for the community, and it get's no respect. Where's the SOTG? :nonono:

A newer thing that grinds my gears is having to rip myself to get RH cards to replace the new warped foils in my decks, and just the bad rare-holos in general.

At BR, I was hard-pressed to find an RH Krookodile to replace my warped one. I had to do a trade that I never would have done usually in order to do so. It bugs me that we can't use cards that came right out of the booster pack, because of some flawed manufacturing. I understand that you can find it in your deck 9 times out of 10, but you should at least be allowed to use a substitute or something. Not just toss your rare-holos just because they were made wrong. This bad manufacturing is greatly degrading the value of most rare-holos almost to the point of nonexistence, in my opinion.

did you show the warped card(s) to the HJ/TO and request they create a proxy for you?

About the whole "scratched sleeves" thing. It used to grind my gears too when my sleeves were not good enough for a cities tournament. However, when I was at a states tournament, one of the guys in top cut has 4 cyruses and 3 pokemon collector with a scratch in the middle. He got a game loss, but now I understand why judges have to enforce the rules as much as they do.

On and on with the ad hominem, huh? Describe people like me. I have found no loop hole nor will I attempt to do so. I simply post what I am asked to. I said that this type of thread bothers me. I gave this thread as a primary example because it is so fresh in your memory. I despise topic-less threads which this thread appears to be. Now we are progressing into something close to a conversation, but that is not because of the thread, it is because you seem to be unable to accept my post. I am simply defending myself :) I did not mess with the last thread nor am I doing the same with this one. I provided intelligent conversation in the last one (which you seemed to strongly disagree with me there), and I am only contributing to this thread by doing what you told me to (post something that bothers me). I'll give you credit, you are moving away from this being your thread, but you cannot accept yet that you were wrong. We must all accept and move on with our lives :) I am, in no way, trying to shoot this thread down. I simply stated my opinion, and decided to move on. When you started attacking me and my post, it prompted me to continue posting in this thread. Had you achknowledged my posts as reasonable (just as reasonable as the other complainy posts), it would not have changed your concept of this being your thread, but it would not have given me reason to defend my argument. I am able to clump all threads together (like this one) based on a few concepts that I originally posted (lack of reason to have an intelligent argument for example). Not all bad posts fill my category, but the majority do. I have been on the forums for a long time. I have even been a mod on a forum that is now 90% spam. I have seen a huge number of bad threads, and I am pretty safe to say that the majority of them fall into my category.

As far as this thread goes, just move on. There is no SotG in this... it is not a game and my spirit is not in question here. I never attacked you until you decided to attack me first. Where's the spirit in attacking players in general? I just don't see it. I'd recommend you just move on with the thread. Make a neutral comment (without attacks or defense), and move on.

you got ok you had a bad matchup anyway plus i didn't get a single bts or warppoint in like 2 games plus you lucsacked me in game one so bad
