Have you ever been to a funeral?

I have. Just in the past 6-7 months, I have been to two of them. One for my grandma, and the other was for my mother's sister's husband. They both died of heart attacks. My uncle was 60 and my grandma was 90 and both of them died in their sleep. It really makes you think of all the memories you had with both loved ones.

ON topic, I was at the funeral for my dad's mother on New Year's Day of this year. Although I was at the funeral of my dad's father back in 2003, this one hit me harder, because I feel that I have become more in tune with my emotions than I was back in high school and before.

Personally, I am not much for funerals. I attended the funeral of some girls that were recently killed in my hometown. I had no idea they were friends of my cousin Jennifer. However, she made quite a scene at the funeral. Being upset is fine, but when someone behaves the way she did, there really is not much excuse.

Besides, she hadn't even spoken to them in many years.

Before that, the funerals I attended were of my grandmother, and grandfather (his was hardest on me because I could do nothing but watch him wither away).

:frown:

My best friend's dad died in a car crash a while back and I went to his funeral. I tend to not cry at funerals much.

unfortunately, yes. My best friend's grandmother passed away, as well as my sister's friend's loved one.. it's awkward and sad to be at funerals epecially if they aren't for people u know... death is always sad, but its good to know theyll go to a better place...

If possible attend weddings and parties. Funerals are really for the living, I think. It's a way to connect to those still around. The older we get the more of our friends we say goodbye to. Enjoy life while you can.

Unfortunately for my children, and myself,as well as our friends and family; I attended my wife's funeral on December 16th,2007. A wonderful woman who died at 23 of a freak heart attack. It is a very tough thing to go through if You are very close to the person whom is passed. To the insensitive poster somewhere above, I hope you never have to experience something as horrible, so that you can hold onto the fragile and narrow point of view you seem to have.

God Bless You All

Yes, unfortunately, too many considering how old I am. I went to my grandma's funeral, my grandpa's funeral, my sister's funeral, and my best friend's funeral. My grandparents on my mom's side died within 6 months of each other, my sister and best friend died exactly 1 year and 1 month apart. The past few years I hope will be the worst I will have ever had...
