Its cool to see some other new people around aside from myself. I'm still pretty new and haven't quite mastered the art of deck building adn i'm sure others on the site here could help more than i could but i do have some suggestions to help get the ball rolling.
So lets see, if im reading this right, your strategy is to set up some hard hitting pokemon that requite little engery to attack. its not a bad strategy but the first thing i see that you'll have a problem with is that your deck has too many pokemon it in, more than half of it is pokemon to be precise. a count that high would result in you having a hand most of the time that would be completely unplayable and be useless in the heat of the game. so my first suggestion is to cut down the number of pokemon you have.
my suggestions for this would be:
- grovyle 2-1 line
- cofagrigus 2-2 line
- 1 plasma bouffalant
- 4 plasma espeon
- beedrill 2-2-1 line
- plasma muk 2-2 line
+ 2 plasma leafeon
+ 1 plasma umbreon
+ 2 deoxys ex
+ 2 bouffalant (from dragons exalted)
+ 2 exeggcute
+ 1 exeggutor
This would leave you with a more reasonable and manageable number of pokemon in your deck. i suggest removing the beedrill line because yes it is a good cheap attacker bu only when at full HP does it get full effect and with no rare candies in your deck it would take 2 turns to get one out. And thanks to others informing me of this, most decks these days have ways of hitting the weaker stage pokeon like that fast and hard to KO them before you get your stage 2 out. i removed the cofagrigus line and the espeons because yes they do have good abilities and attacks but they don't work with deoxy's ability if you use them to hit the bench which most times would be the better play anyway. The muk is powerful but takes too long to set up without energy accleration in your deck and could be picked off very easily by a mewtwo ex.
Now for the add ins. bouffalant is a good tank, but the dragons exalted one is the best to use with its ability and its attack smacks ex pokemon pretty hard and nearly every deck has an ex or two in it these days. also since espon was removed i put in more leafeon to have on hand in case one went down or was prized and added umbreon as well for suppoort since your deck loves the plasma pokemon, umbreon will give me more time to stick around on the field. same with deoxys which is a good card all around and should definitly add in more if possible. And since you love the exeggcutor, i added in another one to use and 2 more eggs, cuz theyre ability is extremely helpful is some decks.
Moving along to items and supporters...yorue lacking a lot here honestly. supporters and items are the backbone of any deck and the most important way of speeding up your set up process.
- 1 potion
- 1 pokemon communication
- 1 shadow triad
- 1 ghetsis
- 1 life dew
- 2 plasma ball
- 1 superior energy retrieval
- 2 energy search
+ 1 energy retrieval
+ 3 ultra balls
+ 1 computer search
+ 3 professor juniper
+ 2 colress
+ 4 cheren
+ 4 pokemon catcher
+ 2 skyla
+ 4 switch
+ 2 max potion
Took out ghetsis and shadow triad because they're ok cards but can slow your consistency and speed down really quickly. specially since ghetsis is only good when the opponent has a lot of cards in their hand which isn't as common as one might think. Took out the plasma ball because there are much better searching cards rather than plasma specific such as that one. The rest were odds and ends taken out to make room for draw acceleration.
Cheren, Juniper, Colress, Skyla, Ultra ball, Computer search were all added in to give you better draw and search power to help you get the cards you need into your hand as quickly as possibly. You wanna try to always have a supporter or search card in your hand to use each turn, thats my goal in the game at least. not sure about most people but thats just my play style. With no keldeo/float stone combo in this deck i put in the switches to use in case one of your pokemon was dragged out and couldn't retreat, though quite honestly the keldo stone combo is much much better than using switches, i'd reccomend getthing that combo in your deck if possible. Anyway, since most of the item cards require discarding this is where the exeggcutes come in with their ability cuz you can recycle them and use them to discard again to save your precious rescources from ending up as discard bait.
And lastly the engery, its a simple set up actually, requiring little basic energy since your pokemon hardly require specific engery types.
- 7 psychic energy
- 5 grass energy
+ 3 double colorless energy
+ 4 Psychic, Fire, Grass, Dark blend energy
The blend energy is great for this deck, it gives you so many options and keeps you versitile and able to play and adapt to the current situation since every game is differenly played. The DBC energy is there for some acceleration to set up faster or give you a chance to attack with umbreon our bouffalant more quickly, granted umbreon in my opinion is meant as a pure support and only an attacker in a back against the wall situation, but the dbc also aids in leafeon and exeggcutor's second attacks should you need them for that extra power they may give. As for basic energy, your team doesn't require many specific type ones but never hurts to have some anyway, but the blend energy is probably the best energy in this group for now. The basic energy you can split however you like, me personally i just went with 3 grass and 3 psychic, but you could make the counts however you preferred and it'd still work out ok from what i can see.
Anywho, thats my list of suggestions for your deck. Like i said at the start i'm still new myself nad i'm sure my suggestions could be tweaked even better but i just hope this at least a bit of a helpful start if nothing else. ^^;
