C/P from my update...

Edit (12 AM): Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire actually requires a coin flip. The text for the card on the Pokemon-Card website is actually incorrect, which is what was used to translate the card. Looking at the card image shows that a coin flip is required.

EDIT: There's was wrong too but they fixed it, I was just at school all day and fell asleep when I got home. Also, just glancing through their HGSS translations shows several serious errors. It's amazing how they find it acceptable to post such blatant errors.

The energies are really nice, but this Water-type Lugia trend is really confusing. I was thinking it was just a novelty for the "LEGEND" card.

Has it been changed to a Water-type in the HG/SS video games?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was for the artwork.

The two combo/fusion/whatever cards wouldn't look as cool if they were white (for Colorless). The blue looks awesome, however. Also, since Lugia is guardian of the sea, Water type is the next obvious choice.

I've noticed some interesting things from the FAQ.

1)
Q: Is it possible to Evolve Pichu into Pikachu?
A: No, it isn’t. The “Basic Pokemon” Pikachu isn’t an “Evolved Pokemon” that Evolves from Pichu.

This might mean that there will be a Pikachu that is an "Evolved Pokemon".

2) There has been a slight change between Ninetails and the old Delcatty. Now you can't draw less than three cards.

3)
Q: Are “Pokemon Tools” and “TMs” included under the umbrella of “Goods”?
A: Yes, they are.

This one is pretty interesting. It didn't really take off any confusion making "Goods". It just added more.

4) In many times Great Pokemon are referenced the same as normal Pokemon. There are probably no restrictions or difference.

Keep on loving the surprises of this set!

I think in a few years, we will see tools/tms as separate cards. It took a while for stadiums to become separate cards too.

Thanks for making me aware of the FAQ.

Slightly off topic question: Why are there so many (well, at least a few) references to 30-card decks in the FAQ? Is it not unusual to play with a 30-card deck in Japan?

Alot of their tournament season is based on 30 card play rather than 60.

Probably explains why TPC made Dodrio/Noctowl 'draw 1 card' poke-power. 30 card decks drawing 1 card is like 60 card decks drawing 2 cards.

I am sure more people would support these poke-powers if we got to draw 2 cards instead of just 1. It'd be like a free bill every turn.

I just thought of an idea. It's not much, but I'm sure there's some way to utilize it. Clefable has an attack that returns a Poke to your hand. What if you kept on returning Mespirit? This could get very annoying. If only it did damage! You would probably play it with Crobat G, Spiritomb, maybe Cresselia, and maybe Bronzong MD.

Edit: Has anyone else noticed that there are no DP Pokemon in this set?

Yup. Also, cards such as dusk ball and pokeradar get much, much stronger. Granted, you can only run 2 of any card that isn't basic energy, but still.

I would think psychic is the next obvious choice because that is actually its other type. :S

I think in terms of the energies, a Colorless one featuring Chansey would be great. Another suggestion is Snorlax.

They would need to make basic colorless energies first, which I doubt they will ever do. That would go against the whole idea of colorless costs being able to be paid by any color.
