:pokeball: The Official Battle for Houston has Begun!!! :pokeball:

Now at the "Hoston City Championships", the "Pokemon Leagues" in the Houston area or any league that is present will be competing for the "Houston City Championship" ~Pokemon-e TCG~ "League Championship". We will give away a "Plaque" to the Pokemon League that does the best at the "Houston City Championships".

:D Each player must submit to the Tournament Organizer the Pokemon League that they are representing.

The scoring for the Pokemon Leagues will be determined as follows:

Each Age-Group counts. For each Age-Group we will count the points for each League.

1st Place: 15-points
2nd Place: 12-pts.
3rd Place: 9-pts.
4th Place: 6-pts.
5th Place: 4-pts.
6th Place: 3-pts.
7th Place: 2-pts.
8th Place 1-pt.

At the end of the "Houston City Championships", we will add all of the points for each "Pokemon League" and give out the "Plaque" to the winning League.

Attention all "Pokemon Leagues": get your gym together and take home the bragging rights for 2004 as the "Houston City Champion League"!!! :thumb:

Get those decks fine tuned. The Battle of Houston is on!!!
:) (Let's keep the spirit of Pokemon and good sportsmanship alive for Houston Pokemon players.) :)

I'm hoping I will be able to go to this City Championship. Its the closest one to San Antonio, so hopefully I can get there. I'm wondering how good some of the people are in Houston, just hope I am eligible even though I'm from a different city. :)

:) -Hey PokeMasterFlabface- :)

 Yes, "old man" is correct. You may play in any "City Championship" no matter what State or City you are from. If you play in the State of Oklahoma and win your age group, you will receive the "Winner's Medallion" and "VIP Package". The "VIP Package" will be for your State (Texas) even though you played in Oklahoma. Yes, I encourage you to play in as many as you can get to. Check the list of "City Championships" on <www.pokemon-tcg.com/premier_events.html>. Get your deck ready and fine tuned because the "City Championships" are drawing near. Load up the car and bring your friends with you and make it a day of Pokemon at the "Houston City Championships"!!! :thumb:

Take care and hope to see you there.

Only 9-Days Left!!!

:pokeball: Hey Houston & Surrounding Area Pokemon Players!!!! :pokeball:

 Only 9-days left until we kick off the first "City Championship" in the State of Texas. The "Super Bowl" will be on Sunday, February 1, 2004. But, in Houston the real count down begins for the "Super Bowl of Pokemon-e TCG"!!!

There are only a limited number of those "Special Promo Cards" that you can get only at these City Championships. So, pre-register to make sure that you will get your Promo card. :thumb:

 Who will take that special "VIP Package" to the State Championships home with them??? Which Pokemon League will be crowned the "BEST LEAGUE" at the "Houston City Championships"???

Houston, get your teams ready because the count down is on!!!!

Hey Master Professor Birch, I may be getting a group of friends together to head down to the Championships there at Houston. I was wondering if there is enough room for us in the tourney, cause I dont know all their personal information to pre-register. My question is: If we go to the tourney there, are we able to register the day of the tourney? Also, Is there enough room for us at the tourney?; I am bringing close to 4 to 5 people including myself to the tourney if we go. Well thnx :)

:) ~Hey PokeMasterFlabface~ :)

Yes, at "Midninght Comics & Cards", they have enough space for about 300-players. So, registering the day of the "Houston City Championships: is no problem. Bring all of your friends and "GOOD LUCK" to you and your friends. I hope that ya'll do really great at the "Houston City Championships".

Don't forget that ya'll will need to register under your "Pokemon League" for the "League Championship". If you do not have a "Pokemon League", you may call it the "PokeMasterFlabface" Pokemon League. I am sure that special "League Championship" Plaque would look nice in your room!!!!

Take care and I will be seeing you on Saturday, February 7, 2004.

OK, The Super Bowl is over!!! :thumb: Now the real battle for Houston begins!!! Do you have what it takes to be crowned the Champion of Houston???? :thumb: Three Champions will be crowned on Saturday at "Midnight Comics & Cards" as the Pokemon Champions of Houston!!!

2-Days & Counting Down!!!

Attention~~~~HOUSTON~~~~Attention

Two more days and counting down!!! If Houston thought it was an exciting two weeks to the "Super Bowl". It ain't seen nothing yet. The "Battle for Houston" and three players will be crowned as "The Champions of Houston" in just two days. Saturday, February 7, 2004 will kick off the first of five "City Championships" in the State of Texas!!!

Have you got that deck ready??? I have been asked about using "prozy Cards". There will be NO "Proxy Cards" allowed in the "City Championships".

 I am getting excited about the "City Championships". There have been no Premier Tournaments in the Houston area since the "EX Dragon Pre-release" in November 2003. Let's remember also this is a game and show sportmanship through the day. Let's have FUN and enjoy a great day of Pokemon!!!

Good luck to all of the players and Pokemon Leagues. Take care and I will be seeing you in Houston on Saturday. :)

Winning Decks

Entei27 said:
what were the winning decks

OK... Ok...the Winning Decks for the Houston City Championships are as follows. And I will probably get in trouble for giving out their deck info.

Age Group 10-Under: Armaldo/Cradily (Fossils as Basic Pokemon)

*( This type of deck has been under quite a discussion on the "Single Cards..."/Fossil Mulligan To Get Better Hand.)

Age Group 11-14: BAR-NONE (Blaziken/Ampharos/Rayquaza)

*( This was the BEST deck by far at the tournament.---Beware..."evilcaturne666", you just might get what you want!!!)

Age Group 15-Over: Ampharos ex/Ampharos/Grumpig

 There were mostly "Gardevoir ex/Gardevoir/Wobbuffet" and different versions of "Ampharos ex" decks with some "Flygon" added to various decks. There was a red face paint deck in the 15-Over age group that finished second only because of a bad draw in the finals. It was talked about more than any other deck there. I will not say what it was because it will make an entrance at the "Fort Worth City Championships". :D

Later.

Seems strange the alot of the other places have full reports from 1-2 diffeerent people and houston hasnt really posted one. ooohhh.. they have so much insight to the metagame that it would show there hand to the rest fo texas, let alone the world to steal or counter there unforseen decks. its just hard to believe no one in houston visits here at this site and they would band together not to post reports. if it was me , as i have in the past, i would post in a heart beat just to edge on a challenge if i thought i had such a broken deck. and if i may guess right , i think the rogue deck came from ft. worth. i so wish i was able to make it , but do to car trouble ( of all times to screw up my baby didnt pull thru) i was unable to make and shake up the tourny!

MOB,

I agree that the deck lists of the winning decks (at least the top4 in each age group) should be public knowledge. However, it does take quite a while to transpose the paper to electronic forms.

The "rogue" deck did well because no-one was expecting it or could adapt their strategy quick enough. It had a good player behind the wheel too. However, If there was an Aggon EX deck in the house, which didn't show up in Houston, it would have rolled over this "rogue" deck, IMO.

BTW: I have seen a similar deck posted here on PokeGym.

Gosh.. dropping these hints are fun.

ps: The pilot of the "rogue" deck was not from Houston.
