Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Houston, Texas Regionals - TWO DAY event

wait did i miss it yet?

Yeppers, it was Monday night this week. I will do it on a different night each week because here in Houston we have leagues every night and day of the week. This gives the players a chance to play.

Next week we'll have trivia on Tuesday night at 8:00 pm sharp. I have league that night but should be home by 7:50ish.

I will always come on and give y'all a couple days notice.

Houston has leagues every day and night of the week! No wonder I always lose to south texas players.

Yeppers, there's a league somewhere 7 days a week including 6 different ones on Saturday, 2 on Tuesdays, 2 on Wednesdays, and 3 on Fridays. Houston also has the most Masters we've ever had.

ALERT - I posted that next Tuesday would be Trivia night but I need to move it to next Thursday night at 7:30.

Awesome! Can't wait for Regionals! I hope the tournament was just as good as last year's, Cook!

Since it's two day event, we can avoid the early morning crowning of Regional champion! ;)

Also, the tournaments free, right? Like totally free? No money is paid to enter? :p

Still debating between this Regional or the one in California. Either way, the Houston Regionals has become my Regionals of choice the past few years because of how great the tournament usually runs. The introduction of a two day structure really shows the powers that be are looking out for the player.

Post #1 has been updated with start times for both days and the prize support. I also changed the lunch break to 1 hour instead of 30 minutes.

The question I'm getting the most is:

Why ONLY top 8 on Sunday? This is so that IF you do make it to Sunday and lose in the first round, you're at least guaranteed 18 packs for your time. Thank you Cyrus for this idea.

Most of y'all know this already but just in case......

Black & White Theme decks will hit the stores around April 6. The actual release date for Black & White isn't until AFTER Regionals.

This means one thing. Black & White cards WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN PLAY AT REGIONALS, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please help get the word out.

None of us want to see little kids show up with their new B&W theme decks, only to get told the cards aren't playable. Sure we'll have theme decks available but that doesn't wipe away the tears.

Thank you.

This used to be such a great event, Ahhhh well

What do you mean USED TO BE?!?!

Team Cook still puts on one of the BIGGEST and BEST Tournaments around!!

Hey Mike, could you email me some fliers so I can hand out around leagues?

Fish

Mike definately does put on a good event.

Should be no exception this year.

I will be in Utah, hanging with friends there and Judging, but I - along with most of the PTO's - will be watching the numbers to see who the big dog is this year.

Good luck Mike and all that attend.

And thank you too.

We've added a Pokemon Coloring Corner. This isn't a contest, just a relaxing, fun place to hang out for the Juniors, Seniors, and the occasional Masters. We'll have a wall so that you can show off your colorings.

Just a reminder to parents and guest, we have tons of seating at round tables, inside and out on the back patio, plenty of room to spread out and relax. There's also a grassy area by the back patio for the kids to play around if they want and the area is fenced in. We're asking that Juniors & Seniors need parent supervision to hand out in the front of the building.

And thank you, Cook, for listening. This was one of the most productive instances of an "internet debate" I think the 'Gym has ever had, primarily because it translated into a very agreeable compromise.
