How Do You Shuffle?

So there are several good shuffling teqhniques, some better, some worse. So I wonder, how do you shuffle? Do you riffle? Mash? Overhand? And for how long do you shuffle?

Also, are you afraid to damage your cards when (if) you riffle shuffle? I am, to an extent, so I prefer the mash shuffle (which is just as good as a riffle actually).

I usually start with a pile shuffle, then mash for a good amount of time, then do some overhand shuffles, then go back to mashing, and then I'm done.

Before each game, I carefully organize my deck in the bathroom. Then I sit down at my play area and do a 5 pile shuffle. Then i cut my deck at the exact middle and do a 6 pile. After this I cut it in the middle again and draw my hand while my opponent is not looking. Usually they don't care and will let you keep your hand, which is zekrom pachi shaymin 3 energy, and a juniper.

Uhhh I usually 5 pile and ruffle or mash depending on the sleeves and 5 pile some more.
;)

I six pile my deck twice. Then in tournaments, riffle. Outside them i bridge. (It's much easier to see your opponents cards if the person bridges) I'm not paranoid. I could have lost games by not putting the second basic down vs Zekrom had my opponent not been so kind as to show it to me.

As far as damage goes, I BEAT on my cards providing i'm not playing Beaches. I'm one of those guys you see with a 100% warped cards from shuffling.

At the beginning of a game, I usually 8-10 pile my and my opponent's deck. People were giving me the weirdest looks at nats, and I returned it to them when they would just cut. In game, I usually cut or tap my opponent's deck, and give mine a quick hand shuffle, by cutting the deck in half, then sorta sliding it back together. I split Ultra Pros a lot, and I always keep my cards facing the same direction.

I do the side shuffle. Between matches I pile shuffle so there aren't clumps of pokemon and trainers. Absolutely NO riffle or "shotgun" shuffling.

At the beginning of the game, I do a six-pile shuffle combined with bridge-shuffling. After deck searches in midgame, I bridge-shuffle 1 to 4 times.

I looked at the shuffle wiki article and I still don't know the word for the types of shuffles I use... If I'm not using sleeves, I kind of do a bridge shuffle, but without the bridge part, maybe it's called dovetail... if I am using sleeves, or if I'm teaching someone with small hands how to randomize their deck, I side-shuffle.

Interesting to see I'm the first one to report doing a seven-pile, since it doesn't divide into the total number of cards in the deck (in fact I actually get paranoid when someone does a 3, 4, 5, or 6 pile and I make sure to shuffle it thoroughly once they present). Seven pile, mash a few times, seven pile, mash a few times, present. Replace mashing with overhanding for events where I'm not using sleeves for whatever reason.
