Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

"How does that work!?" 2nd Place Masters Report

Great run this year, man! Definitely one of the most unique, unexpected, and special decks to ever perform well at a big event. It was an honor to be one of the first to play it! See you next season!

I remeber when I was eating dinner with you guys and Mikey showed me your deck and I was like What the, now I understand :p

Really good read, and great to hear how the deck was developed and everything behind it. Seriously creative, and you should be proud. Congrats, dude!

I had several people believing this just saying :)

I can't really comment on the current format since I've been busy with school, and haven't played any games since worlds. (and I can't make fall regionals anyways) There's definitely room for flexibility in the attackers though. Reuniclus/Vileplume/Blissey/whatever can survive the most popular attacks. It was pretty easy for me to assess what that last part would be going into worlds, but I'm sure it's a little different now, and likely different in different local metagames. I think my deck with different sets of attackers will probably be viable all year, unless ohkoing power becomes much easier.

Thanks again to everyone who commented. I appreciate it. (Still hoping on getting this printed. )

This is what i thougt. but the only pokemon that comes in my mind is Beartic and it doesn´t look better than donphan right now... alss other options are Stage 2 Pokemon who woud make the deck even harder to set up.

Love your deck, glad to see something new that earned second place in Worlds.
You also made me realize I can still be original with decks no matter how bad the format can be, thanks!

To think that the silly proxy deck I made after the release of BW in Japan would end up getting top2 at worlds is pretty weird. Beartic/Vileplume/Reuniclus (that's how my variant was) simply crushed the other decks I were testing at that point, leading to me overhyping Reuniclus online :) Be it reshiboar, donchamp, or zekrom - neither of these stood a chance. Yet, nobody understood the potential of this deadly combo... until you proved the mwrong, Ross:) I was so psyched for your success that day :)
