How much do booster packs cost where you live?

BTW I went to the local Walmart last night & they had recently moved some stuff around (making the self checkouts easier to access).
They moved all the cards to the backside of that area, thus making the TCG/Baseball card section rather large (about 20').
They had a bunch of older tins (even a Black & White preview tin with Snivy), and a bunch of older booster blisters.
The older tins were $15.99...
Those blisters were $3.98 a pack...We are talking Platinum & HeartGold stuff here...

Still no new boxes/promo blister things (though they did re-stock the Boundaries Crossed ones).

It varies from store to store in my area.

At a nearby Walgreens, they're $3.99 per pack. Other stores sell them from anywhere between 4-5 dollars.

€3.50. I don't know many people who buy packs anymore, usually just boxes (for around €90). Single packs have such bad EV nowadays, with all the normal rares being €0.10 and only the secret rares worth the money.

Yup. It's honestly ridiculous how much money you save buying a booster box. $90-$95 with shipping for 36 packs? Yes please. I'm sure there are probably better deals out there, I just get mine from the same place each time.

Admittedly, you're right about saving money buying in bulk.

However... I buy booster packs. I just kinda like to, there's not a whole lot of logic to it. I guess I enjoy just going out every now and then and picking up a pack for a quick burst of excitement. I've never felt terribly disappointed if I don't pull anything worthwhile. The thrill of potentially getting something awesome makes up for it.

The closest shop sells them 3 for 10 $ but I found a place 15 minutes away that sells them for 3 $ each or 7 for 20$.

I live in the Portland metro area.

I glanced when I was at a Wal-Mart yesterday: thought it was a recent booster for $3.98 but I was in a hurry and could be wrong. Whatever it was, it was carded.

Most likely those older packs I was mentioning.
Stuff like Legends Awakened, Stormfront, & HeartGold stuff.
Along with that Arceus promo blister that popped up all over...

I swear whomever has this blister scheme at Target, Walmart & Toys R Us must have a TON of these older packs...

Booster packs here in my country are sold around $5 each or more. There is now a place where a guy offers 5 packs for $20, which actually is a nicer, very welcomed deal. (still expensive, though)

The lowest I have ever seen the packs was about 2.47 USD at some card store way out in the middle of rural Tennessee (road trip!). They didn't have very many, and they were all NVI and the newest ones out (which at the time were BCR) were at a "normal" price, I don't remember. But my brother and I each bought one, because, hey, it was a good price. I pulled one of those fancy ultra rare Meowth. Life was good, especially since the card was worth a bit more then than it is now. :p

They weren't fake, from what I can tell, either.

Good buys on booster packs at such locations seems common; besides the unfortunate instances of fake cards, the cost-of-materials and even shipping isn't too bad for a booster box. Some stores aren't sure if they'll sell well enough at full price, or don't realize the standard market up.

When Yu-Gi-Oh was on its second English set and boosters were $3.5-5 depending on location, a small town gas station about 20 minutes from where I lived had them for under $3... until I bought them out. Knowing they were in demand, they went up to MSRP and never came back down while I lived in that location.

In some cases it might be because "retail space" is at even more of a premium in such stores, and it isn't as easy for them to "clearance" older boosters - best to make sure they do sell easily.
