A simple enough concept, how would Ross's deck work if you took out the "toolbox" cards like the ESL, Zekroms, and all the Fire and Rainbow Energies, switching the bulk of those cards for a decent-sized Machamp line?
I get that the idea of one-shotting everything in the competitive scene is almost necessary, but Machamp Prime will do it against everything, and unlike Zekrom, won't leave itself in KO range for anything barring a three-energy Magnezone Prime (which you'll one-shot anyway) and the still-unproven Gothitelle.
You're still doing the same thing as before, but you're streamlining the approach of one-shotting by combining it all into one attacking type, there are no "dead cards" for any matchup like ESL would be against a non-Fire deck, and you can even keep Donhpan in for the synergy that he offers with Machamp.
Does it add a third stage 2 to the mix? Yes, it does, but you can use the Twins engine to grab two evolutions per turn as opposed to the approach of a Pokemon and an energy, because your energy consistency will be higher without the fluff Rainbows and Fire as well.
It seems like a faster deck in function due to the fact that you're simplifying the game for yourself by not having to sort through different types of Pokemon and what scenarios might occur. Only two Pokemon talked about in the competitive scene can one-shot Machamp Prime, and any other damage will be taken care of by the traditional Ross approach combined with Fighting Tag once a second Machamp is up and running.
