Hypothetical Hydreigon

alright, i'm thinking of a Hydreigon deck, but thought i would run it past the gym for critique first.

strategy: power up hydregion ASAP. use mandibuzz for one or two big alpha strikes before it gets k'oed, then bring up hydregion to try to spread the love. Zek is there to cover hydregion's fighting weakness.


this is right off the top of my head, with a little help from the researching tower, so it's pretty rough around the edges, but i'm very open to suggestions.

And I could be wrong, but wouldn't you want to use Hydreigon first and then follow up with Mandi? Would also drop at least 1 Zek and probably an Engineer for a 3rd Eel line.

Also a decent strategy...as i said, i've not had a chance to play it yet, and am sort of just roughing out a list at the moment. the big fear is facing off against a pokemon that can seriously hurt Hydregion, that he can't take out before they do.

i suppose i can just retreat him and use the eels to get some of the energy back, but that would weaken mandi's attack...

Why do you choose Flower Shop over Super Rod?

decent point...i could say that its because i'm worried about trainer lock...but the reality is that i haven't gotten used to using super rod yet.

isn't zekrom weak against fighting type, just saying but this deck will have trouble against fighting decks

Zekrom doesn't counter your fighting weakness.

I would consider using Emboar instead of Eleckrik for energy acceleration, seeing as the fire energy will convert to fire once attached to Hydreigon. Instead of Zekrom, run a Ninetails line for energy acceleration, or Reshiram.
