I am just so depressed. The reason why, or one of the reasons, is so many people have TONS of Lv. Xs and I have NEVER gontten ONE from a pack. So I am wondering if all these cards are from trades or from packs. And if they are just singles then how did you get so much money?! And one more thing how come once there is a new expansion and new cards everybody, but me, goes out and buy or trades for all of these new cards when they already have perfectly good decks. I can understand the Trainers, and other Non-Pokemon cards, i.e energy and Stadiums, but why? If you have a good deck you should stick to it not just go out and buy more cards, that is ingratidude and averice. :nonono::nonono::nonono:

Enh. People have money to spend.

Don't worry, I know how you feel. As a university student, me a bunch of friends just pool all our cards together and work from there.

you best be trolling

I approve this message.

. . .

In the case that the OP isn't into the above hobby: People have to buy the cards from a new set in order to keep up with the newer metagame. But you don't even really have to do that, you can just buy a few trainers/evolution lines/energy and proxy whatever else you want. Then just borrow the final cards you need at the actual tournament. =\

I never had much luck with packs, so I just relied on buying cheap singles on eBay and good trading skills.

I understand where you're coming from. I've never pulled any rare (in this case, Lv. X) cards from a pack but, do not fret... If you roll the die, you're bound to land a crit at least 1% of the time. Just either buy when you can or be one of those who goes to online shops and buy the specific card(s) you want. I, myself, I just sit and deal with what's been dealt to me. Though, I'm kinda wondering right now (Being 6am my mind is distorted), on a Magikarp/Feebas deck for fun... WITHOUT the evo's.

1. Test with proxies
2. Work out what you want/need for a deck
3. Trade for what you can
4. Buy singles
5. Use your new deck to win boxes and boosters at tournaments

The best thing is not to try and buy/collect everything. Wait until you are sure about your card choices before buying. If you do that, and you have the staple stuff already (Bebe, Roseanne, Candy, Claydol, Uxie etc.), then you should be able to put your deck together for less than it costs to buy one box.

Yeah, as it's been said, tin Lv.Xs>regular versions in terms of cost.
Other than that, be sure you know what you're doing before you get the cards.
I can't see cost specific to Lv.Xs being a major constraint. It's not like the days of exs. I think max Lv.Xs I've run in a deck is 3. Only deck you have to worry about lots of Lv.Xs is AMU.

I wouldnt say that My Dusknoir deck runs 5 LV X Pokemon.

72 Packs of Secret Wonders with zero LV X, don't complain to me. (This was around cities so they werent' sealed boxes.

I:
Spend all of my money on prereleases (I'm a Junior so I save up with my allowance)
With those cards I make decks and win more cards at tournements!
