It would be nice to get to play in Florida where there are a buch of easy players to go up against.
Here in the Pacific NW we have the best players in the world. If Flaming Spinich played in any other region of the country he would already have an invite to worlds I guarantee that. In our 15+ age
group now we have last years 11-14 world champion and last years 15 and up 2nd place finsisher
(and the 2nd place finisher is the inventor of the Storm Deck or as you know it "LBS". So in the Pacific NW better isnt good enough you have to be the best in the world.

WDF are you talking about?? Florida having easy players? I know very well that some of the players up there are good, but there are other places with much better players. If you think Florida is easy, maybe you should come down here and play, you will still walk home with a 0-3 Drop record. You have no rights to call others "Easy" when you suck yourself. What have you ever won? A "Prelease"?? I'm not being cocky here, I'm just defending all the players here in Florida.

About the "Inventor" of LBS, we don't want to get in that topic. No ONE knows who "invented it".

Like I say, if you think Florida is easy, plan a trip and come on down. I will welcome you myself.

Easy Children. No need for fighting now.

We aren't trying to say that FL isn't good. We're saying that our meta is a lot tougher. Look at the Gym Challenge data. Florida's only GC reported didn't even have 50 while the NW GCs were hitting 100+ (excluding 1). Just recognize it.

Spinach - What can you do? Jim must have been on his game and Lunarock did win 2 of the GCs. Good job anyway.

Good players in Florida (in no real order):
Chris Bianchi
Omar Izaguirre
Jin Wang
Patrick Kewley
John Silvestro
Steve Silvestro
Ryan Vergel
Alex Hill
Kyle Sabelhaus
Eric Craig
Aaron Curry
Jim Malec
Bobby Malec
Santiago Rodriguez
Ryan Sabelhaus
Miranda Craig
Orion Craig

Everyone on that list has been to worlds, is going to worlds this year, or makes top cut at most of the events they play in consistantly. Florida is so easy :D

but anyway nice job at your tourney, hope i get to cya at worlds

More people doesn't mean they're all good. Most of them can be new players, or people that aren't very good. Our Metagame is tough as well, we have everything in our region.

Like Penguin has listed, there is a bunch of tough players down here.

Eric Craig invented LBS, he's from Florida.
No one made Blastoise/Steelix/Lugia (Storm) before me. I Made the list pre-release weekend, brought it to league the next week and got 2nd with it in my first CC. http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=26546 Lakewood, WA 11/19. I do not deny though that Eric likely also came up with the idea independently.
And Jim is not a new or inexperienced player. I certainly would not say he is one of the best here but he played well enough to win with his deck. He earned the victory.

Ok, that's great, and we're not really saying that you guys aren't good. But that doesn't really mix well with this statement...

More people doesn't mean they're all good. Most of them can be new players, or people that aren't very good. Our Metagame is tough as well, we have everything in our region.

In your only reported GC, you had 18 in the 15+. Assuming these are all 15+, then all but 1 your people in that bracket were good? Then where does that put us and our 60+ people in 2 GCs?...Almost everyone in the 15+ anywhere you go has a decent deck and has a clue what their doing. We are tough.

The thing is, the people who've posted from Florida in this thread have not ONCE said that the northwest was easy. If anything, we believe it is a tough region, too. However, someone from the northwest HAS said that Florida is easy buckets, which I belive to be untrue.

If you look at the "state roll call" thread, we're 9/9 in our invites, and we're sending like 16 people to worlds. That's an AMAZING number, evidence that we're huge. I'm expecting even more invites to Floridians via Nationals too.

Yea, but people from FL had said that someone wasn't good, so I'm defending the guy. That's all. I mean no real harm I suppose.
16 is kind of a huge number. Kudos to you guys. :D

And just a quick question to Ross:
1. Did you use Jirachi DX as your starter?
2. Did you use the Holon Engine? 2-4 trans, 1-2 mentor, 1-2 scientist?

And yeah, Eric used it at a CC too, same with Miranda.

I think Washington is a much tougher region than Florida. I know that I suck at Pokemon. We pretty much talk big but have no game. After playing in MD I would have to say that the overall meta is much stronger there than it is here.

*sigh* Guys, I expect FL is very tough competition. NW is very good too, we have Sean, Stuart, Levi, Ross, Matt Chin, a whole bunch more. Now let's please stop this.

Okay...

The NW is extremely tough. We have HUGE numbers, and a large percentage of those players are pretty tough.

I have never been to Florida, so I can not comment on the strength of their metagame.

It would be impossible to compare the two without some diffinitive proof.

Can't we just leave it at that?

BTW, plans change, and it looks like there is a slight possibility I'll show up at the grinder!

My original list had 2-2 Jirachi Plusle, 4 Swoop and Magcargo. It evolved to Jirachi dx only, I was off and on with some Lanettes or just Swoops as well as off and on with Magcargo. My list now has the Holon engine, I did not invent that and have heard pretty recently that it's believed it was Eric Craig who did. I used it after seeing some other prominent players other decks (like RL) with the Holon engine. This was still like December I believe, and Blastoise was not big yet.
Edit: Found an even older list, the one I used October 29th at league, the 2nd weekend of Pre-Releases. It had 4-1-4 Blastoise. It actually had 4 Jirachi, by the first cc I had Jirachi/Plusle and Magcargo, then gradually got rid of Cargo and Plusle again.
