Both Pojo and Zeo have major news articles and the link to the faked pokemon-tcg "news archive"...

I saw this earlier this morning (while PokeGym was down) while browsing Zeo and Pojo - posted about it using URL spoofing @ Zeo forum :).

BTW, http://65.17.219.131/pokemon/ = pojo's pokemon home page...

I'm just getting an error page for this fake press-release. It has to be fake I don't believe anything or anybody on This day..... :pokeball: :D

I also had problems - so used Frontpage to import the entire page for posterity ;)
 
I did one on our National MB.
Posted that my tournament coming Saturday had an invitation (no trip only invitation) to win for Worlds.

Ouuggh got an disturbed phonecall about it, but when I reminded the person on which date it was posted there was a direct admission it was a very good joke.

Naughty me, but sometimes you need a good laugh especially overseas.
Lost a bit of my trustability I think.

I did not really lie on that MB, I only said someone could earn an invitation to Worlds.
IF they read it well they should understand, but most people only think that they read well.

If you play good in sanctioned modified tournaments, you will go up in the ranking and get the invitation. (but not from me, because I don't have a vote in it)
And because there are only 4 people organizing Modified tournaments overhere, the change you could earn an invitation will raise winning those tournaments.

There are only a few die hards on that board and they will see the humor, most of the younger players never look on internet, so no little souls are hurt.

I did send some emails today and those were certainly no joke, they were serieus (also to one to you).

Some of you may have seen the fake press release posted on unofficial Pokémon fan sites proclaiming the end of the Pokémon-e Trading Card Game...that was some April Fool's Day joke!

well my wife and I created an e-mail to my son telling him he was chosen at random from a list of players who wrere very active in POP . It stated he was invited to Worlds.
He ran up to his room and wrote it in his diary. He was very very excited.

Let him go for about 20 min till I started to feel bad about breaking his 9 year old heart.

He is still VERY angry about it

For my own kids I also had a special april 1st suprise.
Told them on their way to school that I quit doing the Pokemonclub, because the distributor still isn't willing to get us leaguematerials, that I wasn't willing to buy promocards to give away anymore.
That I was sick of hearing that I obstruct and sabotage the game.

They were screaming and trying to talk into me for 5 minutes than I told them it was april 1st.
It became very quit and I asked them do you understand now how to make a good april 1st joke.
Never seen them on one line before like that.
 
After I went to Zeo this morning, I read the message and it literally felt like I was going to faint. Then I opened up the page, read the message, and before I got past the first sentence, saw the address and put 2 and 2 together. Then I tried to come to the Gym to tell everyone it was a hoax, but it was down.

Now I know what it will feel like when and if the TCG ever does come to an end.

BTW, I think Zeo still believes that it really did happen since they did rip off the link from Pojo and there has been no "we are sorry" message or something along those lines. Either that or they will say April Fools tomorrow after they find out it was a hoax.
 
In the italian forum, I did a cool joke with a fake press release from Nintendo stating that Europe sould see in October a brand-new set, that will be only released in French/english/italian/spanish/dutch in October, and Japanese in december... It consist of a Vending/Card-e promo/new cards set, with a new "Master" trainer-type card... I posted an image of a beta booster too:

Eheeheeh Italy too had its Poké-April Fool Day's joke...

in Italian we call that "April's Fish"... so it was an "April's Magikarp" :)
