When you use Rushing Flames, do you discard the energies before or after you flip the coins? If before, then does that mean you must decide how many you will discard before you see if you needed to discard that many?

You have to choose how many you are going to discard first. Then flip. Then discard.
But you don't get to rechoose if you got enough heads and have more flips to go.
