Interesting deck idea

I won't say who came up with this idea, other than it wasn't me. However I wish I had.

I don't know the exact cards that are in the deck, but I noticed someone playing with a rogue deck that I thought was very worthwhile. It's a Banette ex deck, with Delcatty ex to power up the Banette ex's attack, but they were also running Gyarados* and IH. This doesn't need the 'doom, and walks all over both Metanite, and Bandoom versions, and even squashes Raieggs. It doesn't matter how many your opponent has on the bench, whether or not they have powers, or even if you get fully powered. It was winning battles left and right, with some or all the pokemon out, it didn't matter. I was pretty impressed. Maybe I just need to get out more, but if I were playing in a CC, you know what I'd be playing!

The whole gyrados* delcatty idea has been around since the CG spoilers on pokebeach came out.

The ban tech is different though

Ive worked with the CattyBan deck before and gave it to a friend in 11-14 who made Top 4 twice, the Gyara* idea is interesting, but not something that sparks my interest.

I remember playing against a Gyarados */Delcatty deck a while ago, and when he had used Gyarados * and couldn't retreat it next turn.... ouch!

I can't help but assume that this guy runs some sort of DS Mewtwo-like card. Otherwise, he's powering that Gyra* up over the course of four turns. LOL.

Why wouldn't he have been able to retreat? If he had 4 energy on it to do the All out Blast, there should have been ample energy to retreat. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure if he's using the Mewtwo or not. In the games I saw, he always had the Banette ex going first since it's such a fast card, and powered the Gyarados* afterwards to clean up the board - and that it did in spades! I wasn't able to catch all the games this deck played.

Like I said up above, the Banette wasn't a tech, it was the main attacker. Whether or not the Gyarados came out, this deck won a lot of games. But most games I saw, it was out and fully powered.

3-3 Banette ex
3-3 Delcatty ex
2 Mew ex LM
2 Mewtwo d'
1 Gyrados* d'

17 Pokemon, and you could easely tech in Lati@sLock, with Latios ex d', as a safeguarder

<333!

So you discard all but 1 card and draw it next turn, so your left with 0. You cant retreat easily so u pretty much loose =/,

I cant really see the deck working without something like 4 Mew Ex's or a Mewtwo δ. Bannete always likes to be the attacker. Throwing a whole different strategy into a Bannete deck is odd.

I don't understand this. Why can't you retreat easily? There are 4 energy on the Gyarados*. It takes 2 to retreat. If you plan on doing All Out Blast, you never do so without having either the Delcatty Ex ready to jump in, or a Mew ex LM. Can you explain why that doesn't work - other than against safeguard pokes?

That's why I called it a rogue deck. But believe me, it works.

OMG i can't believe you can't see how this deck works. its so simple; gyary* all-out blast and basically kills the opponent without a problem, dellcatty ex steps in and shoves them all back to the deck, simple, and with 4 energy guarados* can easily reatreat. simple ehh?
using a ban tech is clock work, after dellcatty ex, ban can probably clean up by attacking because gyrados* ciscarded all the supporters, i can see this being quite horrible for the opponent without ban, but with it and it kills like, everything!

[edit]
i can also see another reason why ban is used, guaracatty* (lol) is destroyed if guar* dies, simple as that, and if he dies after all-out blasting, its even worse (we assune no farmer). so using ban in just such an emergancy is a grea idea. nice deck whoever made it

The version I was talking about was played this weekend at our CC, so I go to see a bit more of it. It runs 5 stadiums for stadium control, so gets rid of cursed stone easily, and doesn't have a problem overly to kill something with so little HP as you see in a Raieggs deck.
