Iris and Omega Barrier

I was reading a little bit about the Omega Barrier Trait and came upon this thread:

http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?185363-Omega-Barrier-Questions

My question, following up on the concept of targeting and Omega Barrier that I read there, is:

Who is the target for Iris? The attacking Pokémon or the defending Pokémon (or both?)?

IE: I play Iris to attack while the defending (active) Pokémon has omega barrier. Does the bonus apply? My gut says if target is attacker, then yes, following along the line of thinking in the thread above. But if the defender (or both attacker and defender) are the target then no.

I'm new to the forum and I haven't figured out attaching yet, so could a moderator could add card images for Iris and a Primal Groudon (or any other omega barrier card for the language)?

Thanks very much in advance for any and all help. :)

short version: there is no interaction between iris and omega barrier

long version: technically iris doesn't target a pokemon, like plus power its closer to a field effect that the attacking pokemon that turn gets to take advantage of.
ie you can attack with a poke in play or a new poke played after iris, and they both could get iris's bonus that turn, unlike a muscle band which is attached to one poke.

one thing to be aware of iris doesn't do its damage addition calculation tell you declare your attack, so if one of your poke is KOed between playing iris and declaring your attack (milotic) the bonus from iris is increased.

I apologize. I'm new to the game (well, started in 2015) so I'm not sure what plus power is (although I'm come across the term in some readings about Pokemon TCG's history). But I think I'm reading that since there is no interaction between the two that the bonus would apply then? I just want to be sure.

That's interesting about the mid-turn change in prize cards and damage. I usually just play Iris right before my attack so I never really thought that much about such a possibility or if something happened in between playing Iris and the attack. Ha ha. So many considerations in this game. I love it.

yes because there is no interaction between iris and omega barrier you get to apply iris's bonus damage when attacking a poke with omega barrier.

as for plus power it was last printed in 2011 with black/white it and iris have pretty similar text, heres pluspower and iris btw,
