Um... no? The rules state that you MUST have at least one basic pokemon in your deck. The challenge is still very simple IMO though. The tying situation COULD be difficult depending on how Ketllez is going to look at it when considering hypothetical situations.

its been a while i admit, but you can legally use a fossil instead of a "pokemon" for a valid deck iirc

^Theres actually another card that's just as good as uxie and actually is better is some situations. :thumb:
Kettler said you have to use one actual pokemon. I think in tournaments or w/e, a deck of all fossils is still 'legal'.
Nope, thats another reason why fossils decks have been hurt so much. :/ And when are the lists being posted? X_X

Let me guess... Unown Q............
No matter what, that benching Challenge still sounds boring to me, John should have banned both Uxie and Unown Q. (and we should have attended on that I suppose)

Unless I overlooked something I would say give them another challenge.

Gigas isn't a good idea for this type of thing, as you can never be benched out by him t1. I think will be more creative then running one of the fossil evolutions (which is the best way to ensure a t1 benching). Q is probably the most unique concept still ensures the t1 loss but also ensures the opponet losing if they start with uxie.

If both SuperWooper and Brady1 agree, then I intend on doing a very quick replacement challenge. By the end of Sunday, we _will_ have the top four decided!

Good decission, and you can send my prize to the looser of this game (or in case they don't replay to the current looser).

Cyrus...Keep the current style of challenge for Brady and SW. Just make it Base Set-On!

Now thats a challenge....all that card potential...

I think a replacement challenge for Brady and SW it's a good option, since it can let them express themselves at their best, while the benching one is too weird to find out a winner.

About my challenge, i'm really happy i did it.
I want to give all my congratulations to PidgeottoTrainer and RainbowGym because they made amazing decks during the whole tournament, and i have followed them since the 1st round. They are two of the best deckbuilders i have ever seen and i'm very happy i could arrive at this point discussing and playing with them. Now i'll face another good one (Pooka) and i hope we can get an awesome challenge!
I didn't like the way our discussion ended, with Gatsu saying Europeans and Americans will not change their mind and will keep defending themselves without changing their mind.
I just think at some points our discussion went over the rational limit, but i hope the reason someone supported mine and Ross's ideas it was not about "nationality", but it was because each person find himself "near" to someone ideas.
I didn't talk with RainbowGym until decks were showed, and we discover we tried to build a deck based on the same concepts, even if the result at the end was different. We didn't declare each other winner of the game, but we both try to explain our ideas as we were pretty near the same concept.
I defended my deck because i still think it's not very good, but it's as good to be considered little better than what my opponent used.
I'm supposed to meet Pooka in the next round...if i find my opponent plays i deck which i think it's better than mine, i wouldn't have problem in giving him the win without thinking too much.
Thanks again to Ross (which wrote down interesting comments as always) and all the other who posted on our discussion.
I just hope that if there were contrasts, they had finished with the game and we can move on without anger!!!

I would also not have a problem to give Pooka the win if his deck was better than mine.
But the fact he didn't take into account his deck would fail against builds like mine and actually cannot even win a game with it, makes me not agree on his win.

None of the decks is bad, but a deck who meets the "challenge" requirement AND prevent the opponent from doing this "wins" in 2 ways.
While Andceo proceeds because of this "concept" I am not and why?
Because it takes my deck more turns to deck out?

Sorry but 3 Dusknoir + Felicity = 10 cards draw.
Along with the normal trainers it will take about 6/7 turns to deck out while my opponent cannot do this most of the time.
And some more turns if Mesprit is used. However even if it takes longer my build can do it.

I simply should have send in a list with 4 Gastly/4 Uxie/2 Mesprit normal trainer etc and completly denie the "metagame". Totlay denie my opponent could use Gasty and making my deck fail.
I waisted a lot of time to do what I did while I could have done it much "easier".

Well I suppose Loosing is Winning.

Sorry Pooka this is not directed to you personally, LOL I even don't know you.
But in my opinion you "forgot" a very important part of the challenge and I did not and used it "perfect". (and that "perfect" is not my conclusion but the conclusion of others).

I do think Pooka wins against you Rainbow. BUT, I do agree with you though, if Andeco wins, then it should be you that won based on how he views the metagame. I felt PT should have won his.
