Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Is Giratina lvX States-worthy?

Actually, it only requires two Psychic energies for Darkness Lost, along with two colorless. In fact, that's all you really need on Giratina for any of its attacks, regardless of which one (to my knowledge). Attach with Weavile, and that means you can have it powered up on turn two.

How are you supposed to have Giratina up and going by T2? You'd need Weavile all evolved T1 and a regular Giritina on the bench with an energy on it already. T3 seems more realistic... but still what do you do after Giratina goes down? Send up another Weavile and repeat your steps?

Psht. Someone doesn't know how to make it work for them...

Indeed, you do have to have an energy in the hand and the ability to evolve into Weavile on turn one. Before Platinum, I would have been agreeing with you that this would be highly, highly unlikely. However, with the arrival of Broken Time-Space, first turn evolution just got a lot easier. So that's five cards there, out of your seven-card hand. Seems like a lot, doesn't it? My answer: not really. This is where the Sprites really shine, as they can make that a seven card hand again. Heck, Giratina (PL-9) can refresh your hand to a nice new four cards.

All in all, this deck has enough viable draw power for that to be a likely scenario.

And, to answer your question... Yes. It's the same that you would do with any deck revolving around one spreader, and it's really not that hard to do. The likelihood that they'll OHKO it the instant you get it out isn't really that likely (Unless they're running Godzilla and you don't have Azelf X out, or they're running Machamp and you don't have an Unown G in your deck). Let's not forget that Weavile also has a free retreat.

My friend tried running Giratina Lv.X in a "G" deck of his. He played Bronzong G to move the energy to Giratina over the course of the game. It kind of worked. He KO'd my Claydol early on, allowing him time to spread damage with Honchkrow G and Crobat, then cleaned up with 'Tina. I personally don't like the card that much though. It just doesn't seem that fast at all. I think my brother played it in his Blastoise deck, though he never even used it. I think something more important can be substituted for that 1-1 or 2-2 slot in the deck, particularly something like Dialga G Lv.X.

I Shouldn't tell you guys but you are close....

Is there a reason why you're spamming? Srsly, get out.

The idea with Bronzong G mentioned above is pretty interesting and seems like a practical way to charge up Tina later in the game. Though this method, combined with ideas of Weavile, Togekiss, Rotom, and Energy Pickup all fall short at some time or another. Sure, Tina can definitely work, it's just how fast you can get 'em rolling. That's my main concern with it.

Giratina is actually a card to be afraid off. With energy accel, as well as Gallade and a bunch of Crobats, you can win the game easily.

Gallade puts every non Unown G pokemon at 50. Spam Crobats to put them all at 30. Then spread with Giratina and send a bunch of stuff to the lost zone

what are people gonna be running against SP decks

Wrong place to ask this.

@weavile#1: From my experience, people whom talk like that don't know anything, they just like attention. If you really knew something about Giratina and wanted to keep it a secret, you wouldn't even post here.

As to everyone saying 'Gallade is the answer'... Duh? Gallade is godlike with Giratina. Especially if that Giratina happens to be the Let Loose Giratina or the Strafe Giratina. The one from LA works well with it, too.

I don't know why everyone likes Overslash Giratina (and I find the idea of using the three-attack one with Ampharos monotonous, for a reason I'm about to explain). It's... Actually pretty pathetic. Why would you want to do ten to everything for two energies? So many Pokemon can do that for less... As for combining it with Ampharos, you can just use what everyone else is using: Manetric. It does 30 to all benched Pokemon with Powers (excluding your own, assuming its body's active) for one electric energy. Its second attack is alright, but not great for two psychic energies (twenty and the second effect of Mars isn't really enthralling). The third attack... Don't even get me started.

All in all, both Giratina Origin Forme cards = BAD.

All three Giratina Altered Forme cards = Amazing.

Giratina with Strafe: Get Giratina back to the bench when retreating/switching isn't an option for 2 energies. Do fifty with the potential of sending something to the Lost Zone for three.

Giratina (Let Loose): Cynthia's on both yourself and your opponent (drawing up to four each), and attack for 60 and a potential 20 to the bench for three. You're almost always guaranteed to do 10 to each benched Pokemon with that attack.

Giratina (LA): Evade effects of attacks and damage while sniping the bench. Abuse the damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon for 4.

Or some can do more damage for the same amount of energy

Or some can do much more damage for only an energy more.

Anyway, you said it as true as can be. The flying Giratina (I don't want to type origin) is pretty much an advertising technique to get the PokeKids to buy the theme decks full of junk. They see the new Pokemon and grab their parents legs. They won't let go until they have the deck. (I've actually seen that happen:lol:)

People see the Let Loose and are like, lame, why would I want 4 cards in my hand. Answer, Claydol.

Spiritomb does that much easier... and what should i use if i put crobat in Giratina, 3 Crobats, 2 SSU and 4 Poketurns?
