Anyone remember a few months before the release of Legend Maker? The general consensus at the time was that Cursed Stone, Giant Stump, and Lunarock where going to destroy the format as we know it. The same goes for Pidgeot d.
Looking at the format a few months later, what impact have theses cards had on the format? Lunarock has evolved into a decent deck, but I've seen little out of the other 'format breaking cards'. It reminds me of the fervor surrounding the release of Battle Frontier, but then having a Pidgeot heavy deck win Worlds 2005.
I see the same attitude towards Cessation Crystal. It appears to be a 'hard counter' to many decks in the format, but like many of the other hard counters we've seen released in the past few months I'd wager that its impact is overhyped.
