The voice of reason, silenced again

I'll leave ya with this kiddos, serve time in a hot LZ, watch your friends die and not yourself and then ponder if there is a higher power at work or is it just random:thumb: now tear yourselves up:lol:
I'm ready for my spanking now

So...you're saying that because of this you do believe in god? Or don't?

I can't understand a single thing you post. Word your posts better and make more sense, please. Also, a little grammar goes a long way.

Any faith that requires me to die in order to find out if the thing I devoted my entire life to is real isn't worth it.

do i think there is a god...... nope my reason if there is some higher power why would it waste its time with us? plus too many wars are fought over religions (and the religous crazies keep showing up at my favorite anime convention and preach stupidity while holding weird signs. but my mainly i really just dont care if there is a god plain and simple

Well, ok. I hope this is typed out right and all yall see my thought process on this.

In order to ask if something exists, one must not be at all aware that it existed in the first place.
If no one makes someone else aware that such a thing exists, then it does not exist in that persons mind or thoughts.
If ever a person is made aware of something existing, then it must have an understanding of the porpuse of such a things existance.
Can a person who has no knowlage of how to understand the explanation of something else's existance, how can that be passed on to another person if they are not aware of any such existance in the first place?

I can not explain fully to another person the existance of something without having that understanding to explain it to someone else.

How is it that I can pass on information without first asking about something that I became aware of somethings existance because some one else was aware of such an existance.

I can never claim to have the truth because of imperfection and being foulable. Nor can I withhold my own knowlage of somethings existance when I am questioned about somethings existance.

Thus, I can only come to this one conclusion on this whole subject. IMO- it is my clearest of reasonable thoughts on this, as to be a person who does not desire to be argumentative or counter productive, claim that I am correct in all I know, and to take sides or disregarde others.

To find out if God exists, that is your own journy to take. Ask away, for not every one will have the perfect answer for you to hear. Your quest will be a lifetime, and if you seek the knowlage in the intentions of benefiting your life and searching out the best way to live life to the fullest and be happy, have respect for others, and be understanding to the fact that we all have one thing in common- existance.

It is not how did we come about. It is not about who/what/why something may or may not have put us here.

It is about our own existance and how we choose to live it.

We share our existance with the seen and the unseen. We exist along with the logical and unlogical.

To say that some one is simple minded needs to look at how complex there own mind is. Failure to see this is to accept ignorance as a gift for the foolish minded who choose to not exersize the right to just let others exist in thier own way.

Look, we all are here. Somehow. Does it matter how? Honestly, no. This makes for a good discussion/debate/
because we all are in search of one thing in common. An Answer that we can be satisfied with.

What happens after finding the answer? Do you not "move on" to another matter that has puzzled your mind? Something that makes your mind seek a new explenation?

I have said this before, that there is a lot of interesting information in this thread. I commend you all in that at least you are consistant in one thing in common: the continued quest to find the answer that will quench your thirst for knowlage that is best understood by you as an individual- for our uniqueness is what make us all the great existance we all are.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I don't care if there is a God, but being an agnostic, that's not something I preoccupy myself with. Of course, I think the traditional Christian notion of a big man in the sky who controls your life is completely absurd, and it's clear to me that the Bible is a collection of stories not intended to be taken literally, but I don't want to discount the idea of a higher power.

That said, I suppose I'll derail the thread a little bit (already derailed?) and say that I understand your frustration with the crazies acting crazy. The problem isn't so much God, or is there a God, or is there not a God... it's those who try to force their beliefs on others and act on their stupid notions, which makes others miserable. Can we have another thread on "is organized religion doing more harm than good?" That, I'd have something to say about.
