Hello this is Gdog121. Sorry i dont post alot just im always busy. Well heres some news. I am trying to make a Trading Card Game for nintendo. Yes blastoise-shellshockers rumor is true. A Super Smash Melee TCG. Hopefully they approve. Ive been working day and night on this TCG. I mean whats better then nintendo characters vs. nintendo characters. In a melee. Its a tcg with more than everything they have in one that it has to offer. That should get a ton of ratings. Well hopefully nintendo approves my idea. If they cant i have to find some where else to produce the game. But if they dont thats a bad mistake on their part. Me, My friend ballom, and my friend andrew have been working on this for a long time we think this idea should blow up because everybody buys nintendo stuff. And if you like zelda and i like samus. Why not duke it out in a TCG melee. And this tcg will have new styles of play. Such is how you draw, Compete, Go first, And more features that i will annouce later. Now as for people who have asked me to be on my staff for making the tcg. Only if nintendo approves my idea you guys might be on my staff if i get things going. Only some not all. My Aim username is Gdog121TheChamp and my email is [email protected]. Hopefully this tcg can work out. Because in my oppionion it can boost nintendos level of trading card games up. Like we can have 2 tcgs they have to offer. Pokemon and SSM( Super Smash Melee) tcg.
Well go ahead start discussing. IM OUT!

dude great idea, got a rulebook? i'm sure all the people interested would wanna know how to play, oh and, should make more characters than were actually in Melee, (i.e. Blaziken, Captain Olimar ect, etc) anyway cool idea, good luck with gettin' permission from the Big N

This could be really awesome! I love SSB N64 and melee this TCG could be really great. It would be awesome like instead of having pokemon energy and trainers you would have for example Fox attack form (character) with a cupcake (food) and laser sword (weapon) and then like a card with a move set or somthing
ohh the pssibilitys are endless.....
and that gives me an idea the ledgend of zelda tcg......

I'm sure Nintendo loves unsolicited ideas from fanboys, and they would definitely award the SSBM license to some "freelance game designers" at no charge whatsoever.

Yea thats why Im saving up money, Starting fundraiser or something, Trying to raise the money for the materials, and stuff So i should be fully done with the tcg by 2006-2007. Then gotta get an approval with the market, Nintendo and stuff its a big process. By then ill have set ideas. More characters and stuff. I'll be more ready by then. IM OUT!

Oh, a SSBM game would be AMAZING. Hope Mr. Game & Watch would make an appearence in it!

And since Pokemon are in Melee, how far would you go with using Pokemon?

10 per set wow. At least 2. How many characters do u want in a set. Im only trying to make 25-30 characters in a set. And This style of play i created as i stated in my post is a new style. Lol theirs over 1000 nintendo characters so dont worry if this tcg gets going. It'll last for like EVerrrrr just like pokemon will.

Well I mean that as playable characters, there's Pikachu, Pichu, Mewtwo, and Jigglypuff.

But then Venasaur, Charizard, Blaistoise, Electrode Chansey, Articuno, Moletres, Zapdos, Mew, Clefairy, Staryu, Togepi, Marril, Unown, Porygon2, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-oh, Celebi all made cameo appearances. (Any I miss?) I was wondering how far you'd go with this particular part.

I read on their official website that they don't accept ideas from outsiders.

@gdog121: Here's a link to a website that has lots of advice for people in the gaming industry. For example, before anyone sees your idea, make them sign a non-disclosure agreement so they don't steal your idea. I think the world will definetly be ready for a SSBM TCG. Just remember that you're not the only one out there with a good game idea. You have to compete with a lot of others, many of whom aren't n00bs, who want someone to help them produce a game. What are you going to do about manufacturing? If you expect Nintendo to take care of that, expect to lose alot of control over your game. Good luck with your idea.

But there's a 99.9 repeating chance it won't.
Companies doesn't just go around looking through forums for ideas or accepting ideas from people via email(Trust me, I know this from experience).
Also, Nintendo is the only one who would make a SSBM TCG. And quite frankly, I'd make a pretty good guess that they're not planning on making any new TCGs any time soon. Or ever, for that matter.
Wizards of the Coast is probably the only company that can pull of more then one successful TCG.
And If you've noticed, TCGs aren't based off video games. It's usually the other way around. And yes, Pokemon is an exception, but it wasn't just a video game-it was, and still is, a phenomenon.

I believe Joshman was being sarcastic; at least _my_ sarcasm meter was at red alert...

Think about this: if WotC, PUI, etc. won't take _card_ suggestions from online fansite Create-a-Card forums, what makes you think they'd accept a _complete TCG_?

It's not your intellectual property to exploit in that way. You won't be able to go to them and say 'we created a TCG using your characters/gameplay; want to buy it from us?' because you have no legal ownership rights.

'mom

actually, I didn't see joshman's post...I was just addressing the original topic starter. Didn't know someone else had already brought up some of the points I made.

<-- Only read the first few posts on this thread.

In case you couldn't tell, "gdog", this was dreadfully obvious sarcasm. TCGs can't just be based on whatever's popular at the time with the mindset, "Oh, this is popular. The TCG will sell!" Look what happened to the Harry Potter TCG. It was a total flop. Also, you won't be making any money by doing this. You can't sell the idea to Nintendo because you don't own Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, DK, Ness, Mr. Game and Watch, Pikachu, Pichu, Mewtwo, Jigglypuff, Link, Samus, Young Link, Kirby, Zelda, Ganondorf, Fox, Falco, Ice Climbers, Capt. Falcon, Sheik, Marth, Roy, or Dr. Mario. =/
