Jumpluff... Is it dead yet?

What are your thoughts about jumpluff?? do you think its dead or still going? cause I feel like its never going to go away >.>

One of the major problems, though, is that your opponent can control how much damage you do by not putting pokemon on the bench. You can play plus power, but your opponent can one shot you and jumpluff can't always one shot a magnezone or reshiram, which are two pretty big decks.

^^^^ Absolutely agree with thunderjolt.

Jumpluff DOES have sunflora (whenever you can get it out!), but B/W series has introduced some BIG HP fire foes and Jumpfluff does NOT look like the play right now :(

Jumpluff was an awesome deck when it had so much speed and swarming that it didn't care about the 90 HP.

Nerfed Candy and rotated BTS now means your 30 HP Hoppips have to sit there and wait for a turn to evolve.

Deck is dead :(

It is still a viable card that can prove to be a challenge, but it will not win anything major. First off the damage output is dramatically reduced now that Uxie, Azelf and bench-swarming in general is gone. Magneboar, one of the most potent decks in the format, can theoretically work with two Pokémon (though three will most likely be played at the very least). Jumpluff is then stuck at 90 damage a turn and will not be able to trade KOs. It is also very fragile, but previously this was made up for by the fact that it most of the time took the first prize and could trade prizes from there on out. Now, it will take the first and maybe second prizes before everything starts OHKOing it. It will simply not survive.

I don't think it's dead, I don't think it's grea either. I have tested a version with Pichu and Sunflora and it works well. There are few decks that would reject the Playground. With that being said you need a plus power to kill many things, not a huge issue with junk arm.

Take a look at my videos, I have a video there and actually plan on making another with it this week. Let me know what you think about it. I really feel the swarm is still possible. Although done a little differently.

Cinccino > Jumpluff

Jumpluff is no longer swarmable without BTS and the old Rare Candy, and it has only 90 HP. The only way that could be viable would be with Mew Prime. It's 30 HP less but a basic so you can swarm it a lot better and tech in other nice things.

The candy nerf and the lack of BTS makes Jumpluff a difficult play for next season as well as the lack of expert belt.

However Mew Prime + Jumpluff may seem like a viable deck. I've been testing with it and although it may not be one of the best decks it can hold it's own and with Mew being a basic bringing it out from the deck and/or the discard pile isn't a real problem. Of course your opponent can just control their bench size though really and truly your opponent is going to have between 3/4 pokemon out on their field anyway so you'll be doing 90 damage minimum. 60HP is laughable however you can use that to your advantage and play a nice amount of Twins/Black Belt to be able to search for whatever you need if you're losing or just deal 40 more damage. The clashing energy type is also a problem as without Roseanne's Research playing 2 different energy types can be a problem as there isn't really a realiable way to search out energy except for Energy Search.

Not a top tier deck, but it's worth testing.

While we're on the subject of Jumpluff, I wonder if anyone can answer my question.
Does Jumpluff's Mass Attack count all pokemon in play when used in a Team Battle?

Add in the fact Reshiboar OHKOs it in every way and Reshiboar will at least be semi-big, things don't look great for Jumpluff...plus, why use it when there's Cinccino and (soon to be) Victini as well?

Jumpluff wasnt dead when Claydol was rotated. Jumpluff was still good in MD-on. It beated SP and with Shaymin even Gyarados. Only Gengar was hard cause of trainerlock.

But now... its dead. 130 HP, 120 dmg is to mutch for Jumpluff.

The only thing good enough for Mew is MewGar. If Mew is able to be one-shot every turn, you probably lost. MewGar doesn't have to take prizes, therefore it could survive.

Not true - MewPluff has so much more room for techs and so much less setup required that you have space to run cards like Defender, or an entire disruption engine. Mewgar lacks in that there are no more draw Pokemon, so it is next to impossible to play Seeker regularly and setup. Even in Mewgar, you will have to attach at least 6 times (since Mew will regularly get KO'd), so while you don't have to take prizes, you have to stay in the game just as long.

This right here. The only reason why Jumpluff doesn't work anymore.
