Junk arm and Gengar

So two things came up at league yesterday.

1. Can I fail a junk arm?

2. If Gengar prime is active and uses curse drop on a pokemon that has a rescue energy attached to it does it go to the lost zone or back into the players hand if knocked out?

1. No. It's not a deck search. It's a Discard Pile search. The cards in that are public knowledge.

2. Cursed Drop places damage counters and so does not trigger Rescue Energy
