I'm a freelance webdesigner / webdeveloper ~ my intention is not to advertise but to get feedback / comments / suggestions on my most recent non-profit project! A website for my league!

http://www.blackthornleague.ca/

I'm working on a standings system for my players, non-competitive (also not used to determine distribution of league prizes).

Looking for comments suggestions and if you guys could find any errors (specify which browser) on the site I'd appreciate it lots!

Thanks!

Everything seems to work fine on Chrome.

Very nice website, which our league could have one like that :p

Thanks! On chrome, when you hover over the links do you see a magnifying glass (specifically on the top players and standings page) ? I think my chrome installation is borked cause its not loading for me :(

Nice website :)

It would be cool if you added a decklist section, a link to other sites (Pokebeach, Pokegym, etc.), and tournament dates.

Those are always cool and very helpful.

Thanks :) I'll plan on adding a resources section a little later on! :)

Looks nice, but are you sure you want to put standings up like that?
It's all well and good for those doing will, but not so much for the 0-X players.
League is supposed to be more laid back than a tournament, no?

I've talked to the league members about this and specifically pointed out that the standings is not used to determine how the rewards are given out nor is it an accurate representation of their skills/abilities..

If issues arise from this, which I hope it doesn't -- I'll put into place some sort of opt out option where names will either be blocked out or users results don't show up at all.

Looks good visually. But there was no information on where and when the league met, unless it was in the "contact" link which didn't work for me. The time and place should be on the main page.

Also, I'm not sure I like the standings idea too much either. All the disclaimers in the world won't change the fact that it makes it seem like league is competitive.

To quote the manual:

It is very important to Pokémon Organized Play that players understand the difference between league play and sanctioned tournament play. Leagues are casual play environments, whereas tournaments are a more competitive setting. Leagues reward players for playing games, win or lose. Tournaments reward players for winning. We are determined to provide events for players of all competition levels, from casual league settings to the competitive Championship series. However, we do realize that some players would rather participate in a more structured format, such as a tournament, while still earning league stamps.

Should your players decide that they would like to participate in a tournament, but earn league stamps for their matches, you may hold any non-sanctioned tournament during a league session. Players who do not want to participate in a tournament run during a league session should still be allowed to participate in the standard league format during that session.

The standings do not determine reward distribution and this is mentioned to the players, so far the players agreed and didn't care about results being collected like this.. but in the case where the players want to play competitively but still earn rewards, theres some sort of reference who to play against with.

And location wise I should probably change the Pokémon OP link to "Location" or something like that. Which browser are you using? OS and Browser version would help!

I thought Dahlia wasn't over til June 7. You have stated it is over and you are in Darach season which doesn't start til June 14.

Next week theres no event date for our league as the leaders are going away on a trip - making the next event on June 5 and the reporting has been sent to TCPi so by the time the next event happens - I cant really report on the Dahlia season (away from the country) without being late on the material for darach season stuff … so either be early by 2 days or be late with supplies for the next 1-2 weeks or however long the stuff gets to us.

On our official pokemon page, it states that our season is still dahlia however its already been reported -- you will still be able to earn Dahlia season stuff however, until supplies last which we might not have a lot of because we're expecting a bigger turnout on the June 5 date with the rest of the people that didnt make it on the previous event.
