Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Kabutops GE

the problem is that if kabutops gets popular during states(imho it will) people will start playin lat-lock.
that shuts down the new aerodactyl, ampharos, and magmortar as well

The scans of cards we already have. No room in the set list for Fossil trainer cards, let alone the evolutions. Considering those are on the Pokemon organized play site, I'd say there's no question about it's validity as a theory.

EDIT: And yes, Lati-lock becomes amazing with Kabutops rearing it's head. Countering their major damaging effect is QUITE valuable.

t2 rare candy -> kabutops lolol

...With... A 3 energy attack?

You know, you don't even NEED Rare Candy in Kabutops. You attach a fighting energy, turn 1 Kabuto which has power to search for more Fossils. You get Turn 2 Kabutops regardless of Rare Candy. ://

The problem is Kabutop's attack cost. T2's only doing 60 damage. You're not anywhere near scary with your damage anymore, and it's just the body which is a tad frightening. And Holon Mentor/Roseanne's for the Lati-lock just ruins the Kabutops lock. Just to cap things off, Kabutops doesn't even have an ability to do anything particularly impressive with it's Psychic Pulse-ish attack with no pre-evolutions that spread damage nor a body to spread damage. :/

Sure, the body's good, but Kabutops as an attacker is rather sub-par. :/
