My friend has been trying to find a way to use the Kecleon from RR competitively, because it has potential. Here's a list he recently came up with, designed to destroy everything in the format. Read the strategy below to see how, if this looks like a random assortment of cards thrown together.

4 Kecleon RR (Colorful Body)
3-3 Weavile (Darkness Charge)
2-2 Shaymin Ground Form
2-2 Claydol
2 Uxie
2 Lucario GL
1-1 Metapod HGSS

24

4 Roseanne's Research
3 Bebe's Search
2 Interviewer's Questions
2 Cynthia's Feelings
2 Cynthia's Guidance
4 Rare Candy
1 Luxury Ball
1 Premier Ball
3 Snowpoint Temple
3 Expert Belt

25

4 DCE
4 Sp. Dark
2 Basic Dark
1 Basic Grass

60

Strategy:
This deck is based around Kecleon and it's colorful body pokebody. Weavile is your preferred starter, charging up a benched Kecleon with Sp. Dark Energy. Kecleon hits everything for x2 weakness and takes advantage of the special dark energy, since it's colorful body makes it dark type, plus whatever type the defending pokemon is weak to. (or resistant to, but that subtracts 20 after weakness is calculated.) with triple smash and 4 sp. Dark, you automatically hit for 50. Expert belt makes it 70. Lucario makes that 140, minus 20 if the pokemon has a resistance. All of the other cards in the deck focus on supporting Kecleon. Metapod protects Kecleon and Shaymin from their weaknesses. Shaymin gives Kecleon and Metapod +40 HP. Snowpoint temple gives Kecleon and Shaymin another +20 HP. Given all of that, you have a 150 HP beast hitting everything for around 120-140. Might not be completely competitive, but it would be a fun league deck at least. :thumb:

Any thoughts/suggestions?

As an idea, it is great. As an actual deck, not so much. My friend thought he made the new bdif with Kecleon, and it could beat anything. The list he used looks very similar to yours. He just used Sunnyshore City gym instead of Metapod. Also Drapion SF destroys this deck completely.

There was actually a Kecleon deck that did very well at Southern Plains Regs. It made top cut im pretty sure
It used sunny shore gym and similar to ur build i thnk/

Sunnyshore gym is must for kecleon. also replace the 1-1 metapod w/ a 1-1 floatzel GL x so you don't loose the sp. darks.

I actually like this deck a lot, defenitly needs sunyshore gym though, and no metapod. Also i have stared at the list for a good 10 minuted and am still completely stumped as to why you play rare candy, nevermind 4 of them o_O I plan on making a deck similar to this...

Nope. Not a single Kecleon deck made top cut, that much I know for sure.

Agreed Kecleon is a good card but it's so much to play it with
Grass- Metapod and sceptile
Fire- Charizard
Water- Feraligatr prime
Electric (sunny shore
Dark _dark energies
Metal- Metal energies
Psychic- Moonlight stadium
and im to lazy to think of something for fighting right now but im pretty sure kecleon can abuse it, and with double rainbow energy in the format again he can come out on turn 2, just hope you get the right flips yo

The Kechleon deck that did well at Southern Plains was my brothers. It did 36th in ranking, so almost top cut. Major differences is that he ran collectors, Sableye, and sunnyshore. He also only had special energies in his deck; metal, dark, and double colorless. He did not have any of the support tech for it but as mentioned it can be used with almost anything.

I would recommend using a few of the new Interviews Question to pull the energy.

Oh it must have just missed the cut. I know Albert was telling me something about his bro being 5-3 with a kecleon deck and I was shocked. I thought he said it made the top cut, but I guess not.

the candy is for weavile, hopefully T1. I'll add in sunnyshore and take out the metapod line. I'm shocked that a kecleon had such a good run in a tournament, i was just doing this for fun. Thanks for all the help though haha

Are you serious? @ Amphachu. I played against a Kecleon build ONCE and it DESTROYED me. This was also the ONE time I ran Drapion. Please show your work.

It might have just been my friends inability play anything good, but I was using my Snorlax deck, out sped him, and 1 shot everything he sent out. It wasnt just 1 lucky game because i did it on multiple occasions.

I think that's the main problem with this build, it's slow. you can't really start with your main attacker because it will be 2 turns before you can attack with a DCE and Sp dark, so you try and start with Weavile for the energy acceleration and heavy hitting later game. Only sad thing is, Kecleon hits hard, but you usually trade prizes with your opponent once it's charged up, and they more than likely take the first prize considering all of the speed in the format. If there was a way to make this deck faster but still get the necessary energy attachments, like all in one turn, then I think it could be a winner. Maybe flintzonging? DCE to kecleon, flintzong a special dark to kecleon, and you've got a T1 kecleon swinging. Only problem is getting all of that on the first turn.
