In between classes, and figured I'd go ahead and crank out another deck idea:

Late Night Pestering
Modified Format

Pokemon: 21
3 Chingling
1 Chimecho
4 Zubat (MT)
3 Golbat (MT)
4 Crobat (MT)
3 Jigglypuff (CG)
3 Wigglytuff (CG)

Energy: 16
10 Psychic
3 Holon WP
3 Double Rainbow

Trainers: 23
4 Holon Mentor
4 Celio's Network
3 Rare Candy
3 Steven's Advice
3 Windstorm
2 Copycat
2 Draw Cards (Bill's Maintenance/TVR/TGW)
2 Night Maintenance/Space-Time Distortion

Strategy: Okay I'll make this quick since I've got a busy day, but be back later to update. For those of you who actually know what Wigglytuff from Crystal Guardians does, treat yourself to a cookie. For those of you who don't...

Wigglytuff 90 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon

PokeBody: Fluffy Fur: If Wigglytuff is your active Pokemon and is damaged by an opponent's attack (Even if Wigglytuff is knocked out), the Defending Pokemon is now asleep.

C: Collect: Draw 3 cards.
CC: Pester: 30+ If the defending Pokemon is affected by a Special condition, this attack does 30 plus 20 more damage.

Weak: Fighting x2
Resistance: -
Retreat: CC

Alright, so I believe the best way to use Crobat is to take advantage of its Broken Pokemon Power and not go nuts on using its attack and risk tails at inopportune moments in the game. The strategy of this deck is simple: Evolve to Crobat, hit them with Toxic, and take advantage of Wigglytuff's Pester attack. You can hit them for affectively 70 damage for CC (50 and 20 from Toxic). That's pretty nuts. You force them to retreat or be KOed on the next turn. And what does Crobat like to do once several of the opponent's Pokemon are damaged and on the Bench? Oh yeah, Snipe for prizes. I like how this deck also synergizes and works well together. Crobat covers Wigglytuff's weakness, and if you do flip tails on Crobat, you can send up Wigglytuff and at least have SOMEWHAT of a Buffer with Wiggly's PokeBody. I included Chimecho/Chingling for starter for pretty obvious reasons, good match there. I included WP in the deck for use with Wigglytuff. Nothing like giving your whole deck free retreat, helps with retreating Wiggly for cleaning with Crobat. Sweet dude! Trainers are a little iffy, I like Bill's Maintenance because I don't have to discard with TVR and it's pretty good draw overall, most cards in your hand with the least negative consequence to you or positive consequence for your opponent. But we shall see upon testing.

And now, I'm off to Organic Lab before giving a presentation on Avian Influenza Mutations in Senior Seminar! :thumb:

I like the deck idea. I actually run Chingling/Chimecho/Crobat with Nidoqueen d (to swarm with Crobats) and a tech Mr. Mime. Crobat's attack is very random, but it's really nice against sniping decks that will try to lay damage on Crobat, and when you shuffle it into your deck, their turns of sniping it are wasted. And if it doesn't go back into your deck, you get a pretty nasty snipe for 50 for PP. I've found TGW to work well with Crobat, especially to shuffle in any switches or evolution cards the opponent might be holding in ready for Crobat's power. The holon WP is a really nifty idea, and I'm going to look into it for my deck too.

Good luck!

I like the idea of wiggly, and the idea of crobat swarm but i think with bats attack to shuffle him back in it's hard to do alot of damage and swarm. I'd rather run swarm deck with something more reliable that synergizes well, kingdra for example. I think wiggly may have a bit of trouble with mario in the format but bat being a psychic type now really covers that weakness well. I dunno how much damage you'll be doing each turn and it could leave you wanting for a more powerful hitter. Unless you can really outspeed alot of other decks i'm not sure how good the deck'll be. The problem with speed is that bat's a stage 2(does his power work with rare candy?). Anyway, let me know how the deck works out jim. good luck with it.

Crobat's problem is disappearance. You need a good Pokemon to take its place for the inevitable. Mr Mime is a good staller. Toxicroak seems like another natural. I've tested Ariados, and there isn't enough firepower there to justify it.

But in this deck, you're not supposed to be attacking with Crobat. You're supposed to be attacking with Wigglytuff.

In my testing with Crobat, he's so not a problem. Sniping anything for 50 for PP is broken, and they had to put that clause on him not to make him ridiculously broken. Half the time he stays in play, and when he does go, if the opponent has done any damage to him, their turns of attacking have been useless. You just have to plan it correctly, attacking with crobat at the wrong time can mess you up.
