Latias Ex's Barrier Break vs. Rock Guard

When Latias Ex attacks a Pokémon holding Rock Guard, does Latias Ex still receive the 60 damage from Rock Guard ?

Since Latias Ex's Barrier Break reads "This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness, Resistance, or any other effect on the Defending Pokémon", I would say no : it just means that the damages can't be changed. But well, PTCGO set the doubt in me...

I don't see why you would think the answer would be no.
Damage counters placed on Latias EX have no effect on the damage that Barrier Break does.
That damage is still done.
This is an additional effect done afterwards. The damage counters get placed.
