I'm not disagreeing with you empoleon, but they have to know that an inadequate commentary will be seen by the dedicated fanbase as a huge slap in the face. I was disappointed to hear about the VGC commentary. I understand that gamestop is doing the commentary? I wonder how that partnership came about.

However it goes, the stream itself is looking very nice! And Pikachu says "Stand By!"
 
3k viewers and the match hasn't even started yet. Not bad. Granted a majority of the viewers have probably never played a competitive game of Pokémon TCG but still.

This brings up the question: how much time and effort would it have taken TCPi to find a group of people who are knowledgable about the TCG/VGC to do the commentary? I'm not insulting TCPi about a lack of effort, but rather whether or not it was fessible for them to find the "right people" to do the commentary. Unless part of the agreement with Gamespot was that they would do the commentary.
 
OMG this is AWESOME!!!! I'm glad the Pokemon TCG is getting soooo much more coverage than before. It's actually sending chills down my spine lol.

Just a question. Based on the results of this World's, could Zekeels actually fall off from being Tier 1? I wanted to come back and play competitively for a little next year w/ Zekeels but if the deck is no longer competitive, I'd be very disappointed.

Honestly I think it will not. However I have no idea where the Altaria/Garchomp deck will go.

BW-on is a completely different format. I think Zeels is tier 1 in our new format but we'll have to see results.

There are experienced VGC players at the event right now who wanted to volunteer to do the commentary but were turned down. If they want people, they exist. I'm not as familiar with TCG but I would imagine they have even more people who are willing and have the ability.
 
Yea I know what you mean about a new format. I'm still trying to figure out the TSS lines. I've tried having 11-12 hand refreshers but it just doesn't seem enough, contrary to what all the decklists online seem to be running.
 
well, we can all netdeck once the world championship decks come out ;)

Well it's nice to know that people in the community were willing to help out for such an event. (What an honour it would have been) I'm sure whoever turned them down had their reasons for doing so.

This is going to be a bit spammy, but, the music playing right now on the stream is amazing!
