"swell"? charchar has discovered the 50s
Recap of the day:
At the start of the week, I really didn't know if we would break 50 players since the preregistration list was so empty.
Today, Flight 1 maintained its full status and flight 2 ended up about half full by the time 3 o'clock came around. A store employee said that people were calling this morning asking to register for flight 1 when it had already filled up the night before. I don't know how many walk-ins/waitlisted got in, but those of you who waited for the last minute to preregister *glances at charchar* probably don't want to risk that next time if you want flight 1. I also noticed there was preference by some for flight 2, hopefully a growing trend.
TDC filled up for both flights, blowing away expectations and breaking hearts in SoVA . Unlike the past 2 events where I saw TDC as an experimental, fun format (sorry, totoro :frown
, I really pushed the TDC this time for new people and those who said that their deck building skills were not as strong as they thought they needed to be. Sorry VA Beach + Midlo.
totoro, find a way to get those 16 players into the overall count on OP's webpage. It shows that TDC is gaining popularity in here. 76 unique players = wow. We may only be about 3 prereleases away from having to do
3 flights <-- that's right, I went there
Best part of the day: teaching a first grader the basics of multiplication. I remember I didn't learn multiplication until 3rd grade. I don't know when it's taught now, but explaining to him "anything multiplied by 0 (like 0 heads) is 0" and realizing that this game is teaching math was a real highlight.
