Vileplume UD. What do you guys think about it?

Vileplume - Grass - HP 120
Stage 2 - Evolves from Gloom

Poke-Body: Allergy Flower
Neither player can play any Goods cards from his or her hand.

[G][G][C] Dazzle Pollen: 50 damage. Flip a coin, if heads this attack does an additional 20 damage. If tails, the opponent’s Active Pokemon is now Confused.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Personally, I think it will be played, but won't live up to the hype. Without Claydol, decks need more trainers, and Vileplume really is a two-edged sword. With Spiritomb, you could pretty much choose when you wanted to block trainers. But with Vileplume, once it's out there, neither player can play trainers. And there's no turning off your own Plume barring a few cards.

I think it's too easy to fall on your own sword with this card. Unless you don't play trainers, it'll hurt you along with your opponent. If you don't play trainers, it'll be really hard to get out(No candy). The only way I can see it working is Spiritomb AR start, and then use Starraptor FB LV. X to make sure you always have supporters. After that, I suppose either the new Mismagius or Gengar (both know Poltergeist) would be good, but it still seems cumbersome to me :nonono:

Besides, it's a little too easy to snipe, and its attack is garbage thanks to high energy cost.

Many different cards come to mind when this card is mentioned. Personally, I feel it to be very similar to Ampharos PL. That doesn't mean it's bad.
Let's see, Spiritomb AR as we all hype, will be seen with Plume, since it helps maintain the lock from the begining and helps set up.
Another card combo would be BTS and Hunter, which would allow you to play trainers if any for a split second by bringing up vileplume, playing trainers, then using BTS to set vileplume again.
When we get it, Vespiqueen that can protect the bench to help guard plume.
Bellosom LA will also be seen as a tech in some decks. Possibly Roserade UL, and Vileplume LA. Also, any other grass techs like Landmin, Sunflora,Cherrim, etc. etc.
I've also heard speak of Gengar poltergeist being teched in to gain advantage of non-played trainers.
As for speed, it'll be as fast as long as it maintains it's trainer lock. Sunflora and Spiritomb will be used to grab pokemon and evolutions, while energy attaching would take some time.

Otherwise, I like this card!!

A grass deck like Jumpluff could play this as a tech along with Vespiquen from the new set to REALLY cripple luxchomp and sablelock. Grass decks still have Sunflora which can search all this out.

Fall on own sword= Supporter based deck
No candy= BTS
Raptor FB= Inconsistent in Plume
Easy to snipe=Vespiquen

What?

*is starting to think Alex just follows him in posts to argue*

Supporter based = Sableye or Jirachi RR, or you can't play more than one per turn (and Sablelock and LuxChomp will just eat you up then)
No candy means a 3-3-3 line, or something similar.
Raptor FB = only way a supporter based deck is guaranteed it's supporters
Vespiquen= LuxBait.

It also doesn't work well with Dialga G LV. X

What?

I'm certain I'll be on the Vileplume bandwagon for, at least, 3 weeks after it's released and I discover there's nothing other than the lock that worthy.. lol

But, STILL, I'll be a Vileplume building fool. LOLz

Vileplume is a decent card and like machamp and other stuff, it will be played heavily during BR's. Then we'll never hear of it again...

I highly doubt that. Card's incredibly solid and most of luxchomps answers (gust, snipe, dialga) all are easily counterable (Q, manetric/nidoqueen, gengar x). And obviously you don't run a whole lot of trainers, but candy is a must still.

Honestly, with this card Staraptor FB could be a Great Engine for it. It can't be sprayed and it is easy to setup!

I have in some of my decks, completely excluded candies, because I found it more consistent and less cardfilling, to just run 3-3-3 lines or something similiar. Just my 2 cents.

Vileplume is really disruptive; I don't think you can deny that. Getting it out can be a problem, and finding an attack partner for it might be a challenge.

I predict that with Vileplume's release, more decks will be teching Dialga G Lv. X.

Psychic Weakness also hurts it (Bright Look followed by Zen Blade.)
