Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Live US Nationals Coverage

Trust me, thought long and hard about this before offering such a commitment.

You know me Jaeger, I step carefully.

Yes, basically we want to show that this sort of thing is possible for the Pokemon TCG, and there is a demand for it. If we can manage to do a good enough job, perhaps we can get the coverage and publicity the game truly deserves.

sdrawkcab, we're taking it one step at a time right now. Maybe in the future we could get coverage of Canada and other countries, but we have to start small for now. :p

EeveeLover, thank you for the clarification! I appreciate it.

I was just trollin' ;p

Glad to see this go up. Best of luck to you.

Vince, I sent you a PM. It would be a pleasure to work with you, so please contact me when you get a chance.

Jay, yes, we do have a site going up very soon to make everything easily accessible. Obviously it will be up before Nationals.

Thanks, everyone! We'll do our best to make this worthwhile.

I really believe in the cause you're working towards and think the game needs the same stuff.

CameraMan's pictures were one of my favorite aspects of every big event.

Good luck! :thumb:

I was wondering what Top Cut Pokemon was (Overheard Pramawat at a BR talking about it).

Anyways, this is really cool! What is the website? Or is it on PokeGym?

Jay, thanks for the offer. If we end up needing help, I'll come find you. If not, we can always just interview you!

Thanks again everyone for the kind words. We should have a website up soon where all the information will go. We're looking forward to Nationals!

This is what we have all been waiting for! At last, a validation that this is a worthwile, competitive, and respected "sport of the mind" I can't wait to see the coverage. Good luck with this! :)

This is awesome. I'd like it to be similar to a sports event, that's a good idea. You should definitely put this into a video form, so people can see things happening, approximate attendance, etc. And interviewing is also a very nice one. You guys should set up a semi-circle table (or just a regular table, but the vision from the camera would be much better with a semi-circle) and do the coverage that way.

EDIT - Didn't know you'd already posted a video.

I didn't like the image quality much. Some cards you could only sort of guess what they were based on the players' actions and the general color scheme on the card. Talking would be nice, even if it's just, "Mischevious punch for 30." or "Professor Elm's......*searching*...... for a Rapidash"

Yes, improving the quality is something we are working towards constantly. Unfortunately, our funds are limited at the moment (everything we do is free of charge), so it is going to take time. We're still new to this, so we have a lot to learn, but things will get better.

I might be able to help u guys out with funding a little to make quality better

Wow... suck up much???

I'm looking forward to this coverage, I think it will be magnificient for the game. I'll be sure to watch your videos many times over in order to promote you.

Anyone who wants to support us can just check out our website to find more details. I'm not allowed to link to it, but I'm sure you can find it if you use your imagination. All of our updates will go directly to there and to our Twitter account since that's the easiest way to do updates in real-time. We're @topcutpokemon, and we will be displaying the community updates under the hashtag #pokenats2011 as well.

Right now we have all our equipment to do videos thanks to some donations by a few very generous people. Rest assured we will do our best to make this as great as possible with content everyone wants to see; we're trying to make quality event coverage standard for the Pokémon TCG. Thanks for the support, and we will see you at Nationals!
