hi i thought that i would do a report on how i won the exeter city tournament with my storming raibok on january 27th. i am in the senior league, insanity was also there in the masters league, but his bandoom came 2nd to lati@s ex.

anyway, here we go...

Round 1: Dan vs. Jakob
i was happy with this, a quick, first round win. Jakob is a bit of a n00b and not that good. T.1, castform, turn 3 raichu, 90 (scramble), turn 4 80 (DRE). Quick and easy! benched!

Round 2: Dan vs. Casey
not the best player around, though has invested in some good cards, and come up with an eeveeloutions deck, she made a vital mistake... whether she meant to or not, she didn't use any eeveeloutions powers! meaning, rai+cursed stone=WIN!!!

Round 3: Dan vs. n00b luck kid
Jakob knew this guy, apparently he can beat him!?! oookay no prob then. I got t.2 rai, t.3 80! then zzzaped and electrobuzz down, scapegoated a castform, scramble to win! like all the others, within t.6 max!

Round 4: Dan vs. insanley good londoner!!!
it was eirther; my arch nemesis who gets insane luck against me or this amazingly good player from london!doh! i ended up playing the londoner, he, and my nemesis, played sceptile ex d. at this point we find that the top player in the torney advances to nats! stakes are high. buuuuuut, i get t.2 arbok full flame and win before his third turn! that was hard!!!

Round 5: the final
this was, based on percentages, eighther nemesis (we do not say her name) because she won her 4th, or really good londoner. it was really good londoner in the final!!!

Round 5: Dan vs. insanley good londoner
best out of 3 this was in half an hour, awsome.

Round 5-1
i get castform start, t.2 rai and bok x2, scramble, DRE, magadeth!!! i saw of 1 sceptile i think.

Dan (4) 1-0 (3) insanley good londoner

Round 5-2
i get a castform but it is amnesia-ed and ko'd! the nerve, after he proceeeds to get 2 sceptile ex's and completely murder my little low HP pokemon. god damn!!!

Dan (4) 1-1 (3) insanley good londoner

Round 5-3
the last round, i thought luck would go the other way thos round. but no, he had a rubbish draw and didn't get any sceptile ex out! this meant an easy pick off for me and the win for the gold!!!

the final resalts:
Dan (4) 2-1 (3) insanley good londoner

he told me after the 2nd of the best out of 3 rounds that he had already qualified, and that he had been to the worlds twice, making top 32 once! my best is 5th at nats!!! so i was pround of beating such a class player.

And that my friends, is why i like bok, over eggs (it won me the final 4 games i played).

just leaves me wondering exactly who that london player is....it ought to be possible to figure it out from the clues
 
From my experience at 2 CCs, eggs was useful whereas a tech arbok was not due to spreading damage and KOing basics with split bomb as well as the strong direct attack.
 
well done mate , sorry i couldnt come to city couldnt get time off , by the sound of it it was a good and and very dissapointed in not coming now :( , im hoping to come to reigonal get time off as soon as i get a date confumred

I don't understand what you mean? Is that good or bad? I can definetly see the advantage of Arbok but if the opponent doesn't use delta nor powers (unlikely but there are decks such as Swampert + Lugia) how doe sthe deck work? I'm not asking rhetorically btw I am generally interested. I have two arboks and ekans in a binder so changing or adding a tech is easy. Go on convince me :thumb:

Super Wooper you have a point there. I never understood why it filtered the acronym for "what the f" and for "oh my g".

no joke mate this works! it rips through just about everything i play against in my area
 
Right, I'm going to try that out; great work. I have a phobia of dice rolls/coin flips so I'm not that keen on flipping for burn check as a main strategy. Then again, there is still poison and the burn damage is so substantial. What do you think about using Wobbuffet to prevent retreat?

As a side note, at the Hull CC; I lost to a Venusaur deck (yeh laugh it up n00btastic) and well fire beats grass :D .

If Raibok performs as well as Raieggs, that makes it better than Raieggs just because it beats Raieggs whereas Raieggs only does 50:50 That alone is justification.

The energy is the problem for me, DREs and scrambles are AMAZING but they don't work with Castform. My favourite fact of the deck is versus Castform you poison and if you win the burn flip castform is gone! It must surely be a good matchup versus MetaNite because of Zap + Arbok + Scramble = Dragonite KO and Arbok + DRE = Meta KO.
 
I've gotta say that sticking with eggs is the best option. His first attack turns what would be a bad eggs start into a potential T2 win. Arbok would realy improve your Metanite matchup though which is tempting, but Metanite swarms with Draagy ex for the win here, so it won't change too much.

I like it though :D
