I was looking at Lost Remover and just thinking about how NASTY that card can be.

There are some decks that NEED Double Colorless energy on the table. GONE!

There are some decks that NEED special dark on the table. GONE!

There are some decks that need special metals.... (Gone REGARDLESS OF whether or not they have Zone SF)

But... that can be an ANNOYING card if you need DCE for acceleration.

What are some ideas that you have for using Lost Remover?

Using it when you are about to knock out your opponents pokemon and remove thier rescue energy. My friend did that to me, but I ended up winning by lost world anyway. :)

Let's not forget that the primary user of DCE, Garchomp C, does not need it on the table for long enough for Lost Remover to come into play.

It's still a scary card, even against Luxchomp, but I'm not sure it will be a big deal.

It really hurts Gyarados by, as mentioned earlier, Zoning their Rescue Energy before knocking them out. So that's always fun.

I'd have to correct you on that, the Special Metals go to the lost zone, not the discard pile where Zone SF can easily fetch it back. So, yeah, it can't be recovered. :)

Zoning the Rescue Energy sounds nasty to me, it would no longer be a card that can assure you get your Pokemon back.

If you decide to attach a call plus dce to avoid the ambipom ko, you might find yourself under the ambipom ko regardless.

That's pretty much exactly what he said. Gone even if Magnezone is out.

Let's not forget that Gyarados was good without Rescue Energy and just got better with it. Rescue energy is not a necessity.

No, but let's also not forget that it had almost vanished until Rescue Energy was released.

Was it that Rescue Energy made it good enough to compete post-DCE? Or was it just that it had not been on the minds of players until Rescue Energy brought it to their attention?

e: 'Course, I am working off of my local meta only, so I don't actually know if it had disappeared all over or just around here...

Some of my ideas for the card include selling it on ebay, trading it for cards that'll increase in value post rotation, and just in general not using it.

^lol
Next rotation this card will be golden. im sure that just about all deck will rely on DCE.

As far as this rotation is concerned lost remover+ambipom G is the best combo i can see. Its a nice one of card that can help in random match-ups, mainly gyrados because rescue energy make it a pain to beat.

unsearchable situational trainer.

can be good sometimes, idk if its really worth playing however

The top four decks of the format:
Luxchomp: They toss out DCE for their main attack, the most use you'll get out of it is on call. =/

Vilegar: Can't even use the card.

Gyarados: Requires no energy to attack what-so-ever, and the deck runs multiple recovery options (Combee, Rescue and resuing both)

LostGar: Probably won't run any special energy.

In a nutshell, the card is good, just not right now.

No, Junk Arms and Seeker made Gyrados a good deck again.
Rescue is nothing but a luxury, too many people play around it and as such I do not like running more than 2 in my deck as it usually only gets its full effect against certain decks.

^ This!

Lost Remover is one of the cards that are extremely bad for the health of the metagame. It does nothing against T1 decks, but makes interesting T2 decks like Steelix even more difficult to play.

Lets also not forget that Gyrados topped at worlds without it and still did decently at BR's without it. It's fine as long as you play pokemon rescues.

It was able to top at worlds because of mesprit MT. The pixie lock helped a lot against luxchomp the bdif then.

Outside of gyrados it won't do anything to the tier 1 decks so I doubt it will see a lot of play especially since its prone to trainer lock.
