Lost World isn't on the set??

So Lost Zone definitely not in it seems...lame. I'd really like to hear their reasoning why, but regardless this is a very lame move by them; sure, it's fine if you cut out some junk filler Pokemon, but a whole new mechanic, leaving certain pokemon stranded?

I'm still channeling filler set for now.
 
As suggested earlier a Kinda Special Edition set would be amazing. Cause If i'm not mistaken we're only missing a handfull of cards from the entire run of HG/SS are we not?( Maybe 20 I think I may be mistaken) So making it a actually set set would be horrible. Maybe they could do like a Booster set ( Like the Duelist packs in Yugioh) And make it say you get 2 or 3 boosters you get 1 full set.

You don't remember Power Keepers...it's easy to make a filler set, reprint a bunch of junk along with the 20 or so missing cards >.>

Well, Power Keepers is probably the best example of a true filler set out there (link btw: http://pokegym.net/gallery/browseimages.php?c=133

Basically, they needed to buy time since our D/P videogame wasn't being released till a few months after the next TCG set was supposed to come out and Japan already had their DP set released (remember, under their stupid rules, we can't have the new cards till the videogame is out), so they went and made PK by taking some of the old cards that were good about a year or 2 ago and already on their way out to extinction (like Blaziken RS, Gardy RS, etc), mixed them with a bunch of bad ones and filler Japanese promos and such (which btw, were bad cards also), threw in some Trainers/Supporters AND the dreaded Holo Energy so you didn't feel completely ripped off, then released it. I think the only 2 good cards out of that set were Jolteon Star and Absol EX...

Many of the PK trainers, supporters and stadiums were good. In particular Steven's Advice. Some cards that saw play in addtion to those mentioned

ER2 - in Banette EX
Metagross EX - in MetaNite as a tech
Delcatty - great draw engine (one of my favorite decks ever was Delcatty + Delcatty EX)
Blaziken - used by Magmortar decks the next season

Overall the set was underwhelming but some of those cards saw a lot of play.
 
Stevens was amazing.

Been trying to think of some more . . .

Machamp PK got teched into Mario lists

I'm sure Skill Hack Shiftry EX got played

That Magneton with Magnetic Field got used as a tech in something, but I don't remember what it was (can anyone help me out?)

I have to disagree on that issue. The holo energies were some of my favorite pulls to this day. I really like opening up a pack, and getting a card that will be good forever, and make my deck look nicer. In all honesty it's better than opening a pack of even some of the better sets and pulling a crappy rare. Oh look! It's Misgmagius GL! Oh... woulda preferred the holo psychic energy... >_>

I dunno, I'd rather have Mismagius GL over a holo Energy...now if you consider stuff like Azumarill and Arcanine, then holo Energy becomes a bit more attractive >.>

Also for those saying PK had the Trainers, remember they were REPRINTS as part of a filler set; anyone who had been playing in that format more than likely was stuffed to the gills of those Trainers by the time PK came out.

The 1st SA had an errata. PK's SA had the correct wording. Ergo, it was better than needing an outside reference/errata.

I played a wicked Shiftry EX deck then. Had some other decent cards in PK. It was better than some folks give it credit for.

So let me get this Str8. Pk was pretty much a set of a few missing cards from era and Reprints of cards that were errated? Meh

If they do another set like this maybe make it a set where players vote on cards they want in? Do say 10 cards a week (5 that get the ok from the players and 5 that don't) till maybe Mid-Dec that way it gives POP plenty of time count votes and give us the heads up on whats gonna be in the set. Maybe throw in Older cards Like Roseanne's and other League Promos we've seen here in the states and Maybe a few of the Japanese only Promos. But at the same time have stuff that is *Locked In* so where it's not just another Reprint set.

Oh and for everyone chewing people out others for wanting to test early with cards that have a good shot at being in a set... We'll see who makes Top Cut at events. People who Tested and put the work in to doing well. Or everyone else who is just gonna wait to Net Deck and take the credit from the people who really deserve it..

LOL . . . you are really twisting this to try and look like a victim aren't you?

It's not about you testing in advance. Most players do that. Most players had their own Lost World lists.

It's about you acting like Pokemon OWED you Lost World, like they PROMISED it would be printed in Triumphant.

You took a risk on it being printed and it didn't pay off. That's the way it goes sometimes. A lot of people were testing Vileplume for Nats, thinking it would be in UL. They got over it, and so can you.

1st of I could give a damn if I was a victim. I was speaking for the other players who thought the card was in the set. Take a moment to get your head out of you butt and look at other sites that deal with Pokemon. From the Beach,Pojo,Trainer,and Six Prizes ALL OF THEM THOUGHT THE SAME FREAKING THING. So it wasn't just me but a vast majority of players.

So if you wanna go and make personal attacks on me Baby. Awesome what ever helps you sleep at night dude.

My only big complaint was most people saw this set as a way to finally have something to quill Sp. Instead if only made it stronger and the community may suffer cause of it. I don't know about you starting at the begining of the year we're going from Have 3 PR's to maybe 1. 4 Battle Roads to 2, 4 citties to 2. Reason being players don't wanna come out to events because there sick of the current format. When people don't support the game that's less product we order for PR's and the less product store owners are willing to bring in.

To me thats not good.

A lot of players did think we would get LW. I did too.

I was wrong though. But I don't feel cheated over it. I made a guess and it didn't work out. No promises were broken.

Some people say cutting LW is SAVING the game. Are they right? Are you right? I dunno. I doubt that dropping LW from Triumphant is going to cause a massive decline in sales or tournament attendance. Collector/impulse buy sales won't be affected AT ALL by this, and that is where Pokemon makes the vast majoity of its profit.

Pokemon card sales are most affected by things like new video games coming out and the economy. The difference this whole LW thing makes will be much too tiny to notice on a global scale.
