Just to state a fact in here (not trying to push buttons), but the 1st place Torterra in Germany alex is referring to was a deck by -yoshi, is likely not the same Torterra that you guys are thinking of that did extremely well in the States. I did run this deck one time at a Battle Roads and did pretty exceptional with it, but it wasn't really viable enough in our difficult american metagame.
Top 32/3rd place Torterra was a deck that was around during US Nationals 07-08 played by Colin Moll and was amazingly rogue at the time, enough to keep a metagame slot for a few months.
This past year when said Torterra deck won Germany Nationals, There were only TWO Torterra decks in US Top 128. Neither of them were top seeded, nor did they make it out of the first round.
