Ludicolo ruling question...

Ludicolo from platinum's Best Dance does 60 damage and removes the number of damage counters equal to the damage done to the defending pokemon. I'm wondering the defending pokemon had 20 HP, would Ludicolo heal by 60 or by 20?

You can do more damage to a Pokemon than it has HP left.
Ludi would heal 60.
