Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

lv. 50 Dragonite download at Toys R Us 11/8,9

No. The Pokémon Center in Japan handed out level 50 Dragonites about a year ago. I was there (but forgot to bring my Japanese Diamond game, which is a sad story I'll not go any deeper into). When I saw the VGS rules, I was positive that Dragonite was banned because it would give the people owning event Dragonites at level 50 way too much of an advantage over the people who didn't make it to the event - i.e. everyone non-Japanese players.

So now it should be legal because people from Japan, the USA and Puerto Rico can obtain it at the right level? Doesn't sound right to me.

From the Statement from the Official Web Site above, saying that it is able to enter Official Tournaments, giving a good indication that we very well may see Showdown 2009.
This is a good day for Showdown Tournament Attendees.

I went to Los Angelas and got beat buy a 30 year old guy with a huge spike earring thing in his ear (2nd round) and he was a local, roadtrip of 8 hours+ wasted, atleast I did other stuff.
I'll probably pick it up to :D

Actually, there are 4 moves that Dragonite cannot learn via level up until past 50:

Dragon Dance (learned at Lv 53)
Wing Attack (learned at Lv 55)
Outrage (learned at Lv 64)
Hyper Beam (learned at Lv 73)

Now, from a competitive standpoint, Hyper Beam and Wing Attack don't offer much, but if he has at least Dragon Dance and Outrage, it'll be awesome.

Via level up from Dratini and breeding, you can get Dragon Dance earlier, possibly Outrage also (and of course, Hyper Beam via TM), but still, Dragonair doesn't evolve into Dragonite until Lv 55 :p

Outrage from the Platinum move tutor. The only move that would be a special early move is Wing attack, none of the others for the reasons you detailed. So it is incorrect for Nintendo to describe it as "moves" when it is only one move. That's my point.

It was not allowed since it wasn't relesed in America. Shaymin might have been allowed if they allowed you to use JPN even Pokemon.

Well, Platinum doesn't exist here in the US :p

So yes, I think they are technically correct. And once again, this is a LV 50 Dragonite as well.

A pity that Platinum Salamence makes Dragonite almost completely useless....
Ah well, who can say no to a free Dragon, especially the original.

Doesn't matter, Japanese DS game is still compatible. Trade it over, then back again with the move. It's still possible to get the move and the description is hence incorrect.

The move set of the Dragonite was annouced in Nintendo Power along with the hold item.

Here are the item + attacks -

Item - Yache Berry

Attack #1 - Outrage
Attack #2 - Dragon Dance
Attack #3 - Thunderbot
Attack #4 - Draco Meteor

Additionally a special Pokemon Ranger: Shadow of Almia poster will be given out.

Enjoy,
Drew

No, it does exist in the U.S. except it's all in Japanese
I beat the game and it wasn't all that great...
The Dragonite proves that you are a true Pokemon fan... and you didn't hack to get this dragonite cuz it's at lvl 50

well i got my share today. i got around a lot of them, and will be getting more tomorrow.
this is great trade fodder and i hope to reset for one i can use at Showdown.
BTW- my local Toys r us has had this going sence closeing last night and is just leaving it on until close on sunday.
i want to get somewhere around 30+ of these for people who could not go.

huh? How do you get more than one? Save state manipulations or something like that?

I was going to do the Download, Save, Trade, Reset, thing. But i have to Travel about 2.5-3 hrs to the nearest TRU. And was limited on time to do it. Basically run up, get it and run back. But i got 4, one on each game i have, so that should be enough.
