so does Mr mime w/ Mime Jr underneath, shut down Machamps first attack

:fighting: Take Out 40
If the defending Pokemon isn't an evolved pokemon, that pokemon is knocked out instead of damaged by this attack.

also does unown G shut this down, except for the 40 damage

What does Unown G and a baby-evolved Mr. Mime protect against? Effects of attacks.

What are effects of attacks?

Figure that out and you have your answer.

Yes, KOing is an effect of an attack, so Mime w/ Jr. is protected from the attack doing anything.

Same with Unown G, but they don't take any damage, because you are activating the effect rather than damage.

Not 100% sure, but Im pretty sure that's how it goes.

Of course you realize Mr. Mime on top of a Mime Jr. is treated as an Evolved Pokémon.

Machamp for one energy does 40 damage OR If the defending pokemon is unevolved that pokemon is knocked out instead.

So if the defending Pokemon is evolved the attack does 40 damage. If it is not evolved the attack does not do any damage but it KO's the defending pokemon.

Mr Mime pokebody prevents all damage from pokemon with less then 3 energy attached to it, and if Mr Mime has Mime Jr underneath it all effects are also prevented from attacks from Pokemon with less then 3 energy attached

Machamp with one energy using Take Out attack

vs Mr Mime - Mr Mime is Knocked out

vs Mr Mime with Unown G attached - Mr Mime takes zero damage and is not knocked out

vs Mr Mime evolved from Mime Jr - Mr Mime takes zero damage and is not knocked out

vs Mr Mime evolved from Mime Jr and with Unown G attatched - Mr Mime takes zero damage and is not knocked out

Machamp with three energy using Take Out attack

vs Mr Mime - Mr Mime is Knocked out

vs Mr Mime with Unown G attached - Mr Mime takes zero damage and is not knocked out

vs Mr Mime evolved from Mime Jr - Mr Mime takes 40 damage

vs Mr Mime evovled from Mime Jr and with Unown G attatched - Mr Mime takes 40 damage

If the pokemon is a basic and they have a unown on it then it will prevent the knock out and since it is still a basic the damage can't be done. Mime prevents damage unless it has jr under it in which case is an evolved pokemon.

Of course you realize Mr. Mime on top of a Mime Jr. is treated as an Evolved Pokémon.

I was going to be very irritated if no one else else caught this. But yeah, any basic pokemon that has a basic (baby) pokemon underneath is would not be KOed by Machamp's attack.

JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION GUYS!

The dude asks a simple question and, instead of being polite and to-the-point, people come in w/ SO MUCH SARCASM.

I hope you remember the tone of your responses when YOU need a question answered here people...

Point #1 - It's EASY to forget that a baby evolved basic is an EVOLVED pokemon. So, champ does 40 = answer to that.

Point #2
- It's easy to be confused about what unown G prevents/allows. So, If you're not using Mime Jr. , unown G SHOULD still protect you from the KO (since "KO" is an effect that doesn't specifically call itself "damage")

BUT ...

Your question was about Unown G + Mime Jr. + Mr. Mime

So.. your answer is...

Mime Jr. + Mr. Mime = Evolved basic Pokemon. So, NO damage OR effects of attacks because of Mr. Mime's body.
Mr. Mime + Mime Jr. would be safe.
You would NOT need to attach Unown G to protect it.

Why wouldn't Mr. Mime w/ an unown g attached to it not take 40 damage from a machamp
with 3 energies on it like you describe in your 2nd scenario above???

I agree about it not being ko'ed, but the 3 energies gets by mime's body .And G blocks
effects, not damage, so machamps effect from take down gets ignored, yes?

Sorry JandPDS, I stand corrected.Your right, g shuts off effects done to mime not the effect
of machamps attack.My bad.

Helps when you read ALL of the text of an attack ;)

Thanks Brian.
