startegy: my strategy is to get a machamp out by turn 2 at most and then if it is an sp deck take out knock out if not hurricane punching will do

The problem with Machamp is that it completely and utterly bows down to Gyarados. It's hitting Gyarados for less, while 'dos wrecks you for at least 90 each turn for NO ENERGY. You need to either tech in a lightning Pokemon or Ruins of Alph to compensate for the fact that you'll be hitting Gyarados for much less damage, while it hits you for absurd amounts and recovers so much quicker.

Yes, this deck does well against SP, but the whole format isn't just SP (contrary to what worlds might have you believe). That's why a straight Machamp deck will auto-loss to a lot of evolution-based decks. Machamp, like Donphan, both function much better as techs of one or two lines.

I doubt Gyarados sees much play this year..some of the best cards in the deck have been rotated. Really the only thing I'd worry about is Gengar/Tomb/Plume.

And SP is about half of the format as far as competitive decks go. That's half of the format you basically autowin against. Not a bad ratio at all...straight Machamp is very viable for BR's.

I wouldn't run it with Hippowdon though. There's really no benefit to Hippowdown 4..it doesn't have an amazing power/body that helps with the concept of the deck nor does it hit for harder than Champ does. Take them out.

Your trainer line needs work too. No reason for interviewers questions as you have enough energy to where you shouldn't have a problem, life herb could be used for something more consistent that doesn't require a flip, and collector is just better than great ball..so I would swap that 1 great ball for a collector.

Also your list could use some Double Colorless energy just to speed up the deck a little.

Good luck.

if gyrados was still around i would not be playing machamp and yes i am playing it at battle roads

so what should i put in for the hippowdons
